University of South Alabama NP Spring 2020 applicants

Updated:   Published

Hey guys!

Just wanting to see how many of you are applying to USA FNP program for next Spring? Any recent graduates or current students who can give insight on how the program is? I see mixed reviews about most schools I look into so just curious on what peoples thoughts about USA are. Does anyone know how many students they accept? Just submitted my supplementary application today so the waiting begins!

Curious if any of you guys submitted letters of recommendations with your app? I know it was required but now I’m thinking I probably should have haha

I see it from the perspective of following directions as requested... submitting an extra document can make them think you didn't follow directions and that possibly sway negatively in the decision making process. just my :twocents::twocents:?‍♀️

Anyone know if they'll be notifying us prior to the 8 week mark? I'm on pins and needles...

Of course it’s only my personal speculation, but the Fall 2019 group deadline was Feb 15th, and they were getting acceptance letters mid to late March, so I am hopeful we will hear something prior!

I’m getting nervous! I wasn’t nervous when I applied but it’s hitting me now! Does anyone know of anyone who has gotten rejected? Everyone I know who has applied to USA has gotten accepted. Since Its an online course I’m sure they can accept more students.

But I do think we should know late August early September. The last application period found out 6ish weeks after the deadline!

I only know 1 person who applied and was accepted. GPA not the best; but, he had a lot of experience.

I ran across a stats page comparing the best MSN online programs and saw USA has a 71% acceptance rate!

I applied for Spring 2020, but for the PMHNP concentration. I hope we hear something soon!

Anyone else applying for the WHNP? I don’t see it mentioned much here...

From other posts I've read, notifications on applications due by feb 15th were sent out on march 22nd...5 wks after the deadline. The wait is stressing me out....

If you guys get in will you continue to work full time during clinicals? do you have a PRN job? I currently work 4 10's M-F. I know that won't be doable once clinicals start and am trying to figure out my plan.... I need ideas!

I work 5 days a week. I'm gonna have to find 3-12's or 4-10's of I'm accepted

I will be working 3 12s. That’s what I do now and I work with a lot of NP students. Seems like the most reasonable schedule.
