Is anyone applying to USA for fall 2014.
Everytime I try to go to the certified background.com website it says that it is unavailable. Anybody else having this problem?
I've never had a problem with the site and I just checked it again. Maybe it's your computer? That's odd. I dunno, I'm not tech savvy. Maybe try calling them tomorrow if you still can't access the site (888) 914-7279.
Has anyone received more info about how many will get in to the condensed schedule and when or how we would know if we can do that option?
I wish we could get a little insight from a current or prior student on this... Or an advisor. But from what I understand, we are supposed to complete all the certified background requirements and send the completed admission packet and after they receive everything, they will be contacting us about our the availability of the condensed schedule. I read somewhere that we shouldn't ask about our schedule until then. And I know it said the condensed schedule is available on a limited basis. I hope there is enough availability for all of us that want the condensed schedule to get it. But looks like we will have to wait a bit longer to know. It's a little frustrating since which schedule I have will affect my work schedule and also whether or not I have to set up my clinicals for fall. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat. Doesn't give us much time to figure everything out. I'm planning my work schedule on the hope that I will get it. If anyone knows anything else about the condensed schedule, please post.
Try a different browser, if you're using Chrome, us IE or vice versa. I couldn't upload documents on my phone, but that was the only issue I had.
I've had my application and everything done since last Friday, I'm not interested in the condensed schedule because I have to work. When I do talk to them about scheduling though I'll let you guys know.
Hello all, I am currently trying to get all my vaccination records together...I have had shots at a couple of different hospitals I worked at and trying to get them all together is a nightmare! I'm 42 so all my old records do not show the same vaccines that are required now. It was never an issue with my ADN or BSN programs....they accepted what I had...I hope it doesn't affect me at USA!!
They were really flexible with what I submitted, hopefully it works out. The good news is I kinda like this website. Apparently they store everything for you on the site so you never have to gather it all together again. It was expensive, but I feel like I ended up paying more when I had to find a place that did a drug test and background check on my own.
Just need a place to vent. My husband does not want me to go to school. He did not want me to finish my BSN, and I always told him that I wanted to be a NP. So it is not like I have surprised him with this. Heck, he did not want to attend my graudation. I thought that his attitude would change with the masters program. I guess not. Well, I am not giving up, and I am going to school. I can do this with him or without him. I would prefer that he be supportive. I really do not understand why he does not want me to go. He wants me to stay at home with the kids. Yes, I do want to be with my kids, but I also realize that my children will not be at home forever.

I commend you for not giving up on your dream of being an NP, even with a husband that is not supportive. We are all going to make sacrifices these next couple years as we focus on school. I hope we can all make it through with our personal relationships, our finances, and our sanity still intact lol. You may miss out on some time with your kids during the next couple years, but I think it will all be well worth it in the end. They will have a mother that is happy and passionate about what she is doing and I believe that's better for them than having a mother that is there in the physical sense, but unhappy due to your job or decision to not pursue your educational goals. And most of all you will have taught your children a valuable lesson... As cheesy and cliché as it sounds, but to never give up on your dreams... Even when faced with adversity. Your children will be so proud of you when they go to your graduation in a couple years. And hopefully your husband will come around too when he sees your not budging on this one. But if not, keep that attitude and don't let anything stop you. You will regret it for the rest of your career if you don't go for it. We're here for ya!
