University of South Alabama DNP Fall 2021

Published

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to USA for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP-Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey. Also, I am currently based in FL, anyone else from out of state care to share their experiences with this program being online and all? How was it finding a clinical site and preceptor?

What's the name of the group?

USA BSN-DNP/MSN Fall 2021 cohort

Please make sure you answer the questions and check the box to agree to the group rules. Moderators are only allowed to approve requests on those conditions because it keeps things fair for everyone and keeps bots out of our group ?

Specializes in NICU/PICU.

I just realized my acceptance email doesn’t have the program listed. Did everyone else’s list the program?

No, mine didn't list my program. The letter in the mail I got a couple weeks later did though ?

Do y’all think they’re still working on sending out letters? I haven’t gotten anything yet...

I sure hope so since I haven't either. ?

I got my acceptance letter a few days ago for the FNP/ENP. I also got accepted into Georgia College & State University for FNP. So I decided to go with Georgia College & State University.

Congratulations! If I may ask, what factored into your decision??

My Reasons:

  • Georgia College & State University was actually my first choice. When I interviewed with the FNP Dean, I knew that I wanted to go there. They made me feel like family. All of my interactions with the staff have been very positive. They are very responsive.
  • They are highly regarded her in GA. The are #27 out of 173 in the USA.
  • The total cost for the program for me will be approximately $21,000...but a little less than that since I have my own insurance.
  • The program starts May 10th 2021
  • The first year is 2-3 classes per semester
  • I like the schedule and the curriculum setup. Class is every Thursday for this first semester.

This is what my schedule will look like (can be found online on the website)...

I also was accepted into the Fall 2021 FNP/ENP program. Waiting to hear back from my number one first.

Has anyone heard when the deadline to accept is? I assume it will be on our formal letter of acceptance, but I haven't received that yet.
