University of San Francisco Summer 2014 MSN CNL for non-nurses

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hello everyone,

This thread is for the University of San Francisco Masters in Clinical Nurse Leader Program for non-nurses (Summer 2014 cohort) I didn't see one so I decided to make one. Anyone else applying?

Hello! Yes, I just submitted my application yesterday. Was it your first time applying? Do you happen to know that statistics of those who were accepted in previous cohorts/ what exactly are they looking for? Any information would be very helpful!

Going to submit my application to USF within the next few days!

And futurenurse1109, I went to one of USF's info sessions and participated in an online chat for this program. One of the counselors said the average GPA of the last cohort was 3.1 and the average pre-req GPA was a 3.5. Hope that helps!

@pixelizedalexis thanks so much! Best of luck to you! The waiting game begins!

Hey! I just submitted my application last week. I'm sooo nervous about it all. I also applied to SFSU and CSUEB for a 2nd bachelors. USF seems like such a fantastic school but I'm not gonna lie, the tuition is very daunting.

Hi All,

I'm resubmitting my app in the next couple days. I applied to the last cohort and was waitlisted. Hoping and praying for a better result this time! Trying to change as much as I can in my application while still being proud of it! Let the waiting game begin...again. :nailbiting:

@emzie25 Do you remember what number you were on the waiting list? Do you mind sharing any of your stats? I wonder what exactly they are looking for in each candidate. Best of luck to you!

I also plan on submitting my application in the next few days! Good luck everyone!

@futurenurse1109 From what I was told there the waitlist was not numbered. If a spot opened up they were going to reconvene and review everyone on the list again. But I am 99% sure no one was admitted off the waitlist last time around. From what I could gather the entire list received a rejection the day decisions were due. The said they had overenrolled.

I have a 3.3 undergrad and 3.7 in my master's of health admin, both at USC. my pre-req GPA was 3.9. I worked in a hospital quality department and since starting my science pre-reqs have been volunteering in various departments at the hospital where I worked.

With that said I think they look at a lot more than numbers and I am going to try not to compare myself to others as I did last time. It drove me nuts and left me with a hopeless feeling of wondering why I didn't get in. You never know!

Also, @futurenurse1109 reading past threads from previous USF ME-CNL applicants might help too! That's what I did. Here's the link: https://allnurses.com/california-nursing/university-san-francisco-812031.html

Does anyone know approximately when they mail decision letters? I'm waiting to hear from the UCSF mepn program (just interviewed two weeks ago) and I'm trying to figure out the timing for all of the other apps I have out there.
