University of San Francisco MSN-CNL for non-nurses

Published

Hi,

I will be applying to the MSN Clinical Nurse Leader for Non-nurses for Spring 2015. I did not see any other threads.....I am looking to hear from those who are familiar with this program and could offer some advise. Mainly, I love the sound of the program (bust it out in 2 years) and the city - and I think I have a good shot of getting accepted (BS in Nutrition w/ 3.85 GPA, worked for 3 years as RD and should have great references and all that jazz), went to the info session and I did ask "do the graduates feel that it was worth the money? Do they have trouble paying it off? Are they generally happy with the decision to spend $85,000 plus living expenses of SF?" The admission reps obviously had great things to say, and the pass rate on NCLEX is outstanding, but I want to hear from you guys!!! This is a huge decision as I am married, own a house and have animals (2 dogs which will have to come with me plus cats that will go somewhere....), I live in Red Bluff about 3 1/2 hrs north of SF. Any info would be so helpful! Thank you!

@mikolover I received my acceptance letter on Thursday in an 8x11 envelope (in Sacramento).

Heyy all! Thank you for the congrats. Same to you! I got accepted into the SF cohort. I wasn't on the waitlist. I just got in/got the call today. They called me last week, too but it was regarding something else, and I was sitting on the edge of my seat all weekend. More on that another time. @mikolover yeahh! If that could work out. @lp228 You or anyone else want to dive in and make a page and then we can find it on FB and connect?

Yes I can make one! Do you mind sending me your name in a personal msg and then I can create the group? I don't think it will let me create one w/out adding at least 1 person.

I PM'ed you :)

Hi all and Congrats to everyone who got in! I just got my call today! I think I'm in the SF Cohort, I was told the "regular program". Let me know if there is a group created, I would love to meet everyone! Good luck to everyone on the waitlist as well.. hang in there!

@lp228: thanks for the info! Also, it seems like my allnurses PM is disabled bc I need to have "15 posts" before it is activated...nothing is working for me!

@mikolover Some people just found out today, so don't worry about not having the packet already! If you've been accepted and would like to join the FB group it is called "USF CNL Cohort 19"

@mikolover and all the other "out of towners" where will you be living??

Congrats to everyone who got in. I am also in the program, and was also wondering if anyone have found places to stay. Please let me know, i have been searching but no luck yet.

@vulpecula: I'm still slowing searching for places...any luck with financial aid/loans? That's one of my main focuses right now! I followed the instructions from the "USF Next Steps" but I don't see anything for Financial Aid, has it appeared on your USF Connect portal?

@ruble2007: what areas are you interested in?

My portal hasn't changed, yet...so I'm a bit behind, but I applied for FAFSA back in June, so I'm guessing they've had enough time to receive that. Who knows.

I posted in our facebook group about a room for rent that may be appealing to someone! Check it out.
