University of Rochester Accelerated Nursing Program - ABPNN

Published

I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!

Just had my interview- mine was short.. only about 25 minutes.

Questions were :

1. Why Rochester?

2. Tell me about your experiences with nursing/ clinical and life experiences?

3. How do you handle stress?

...and I think that was basically it. I asked her a few questions, she talked about how many students struggle with the stress of the program-- however she also emphasized that it is "doable" and that most of the students who are accepted in the program complete it and pass the exams.

And the waiting begins... good luck everyone!

Hey ya'll,

does anyone know if they are still interviewing? Has anyone heard back?

Could any CURRENT students please send me a PM?? I have an important question!

Thanks!

I'm a current student, but more of a lurker so I can't send a PM yet, are you able to send one to me?

I was told at my interview they will be interviewing throughout August and then review all applications in September. It seems like forever to wait!

Calling all ABPNN members! There is a pre-semester get together at Jeremiah's near Cobb's Hill Park on Monroe Ave for August 20th at 5pm. Hope to see you there!

Is anyone who applied for the Spring cohort still taking any of the Fast Track courses? I'd like to know how that affects the decision date (if at all).

My friend who got in early this year was informed that she was accepted through a phone call. I wonder if it will be the same for us. She was called two weeks after her phone interview. September is right around the corner.

Decisions will be made late September to Mid October and there are only 56 spots 

Is there anybody out there who is still waiting to be interviewed?

Hello all! I've become extremely curious about U of R's ABPNN since discussing nursing schools with a flight nurse recently (who attended u of r). I live in San Diego (a whole different world then NY!!) and it is ridiculously difficult to get into any post bac/ entry level masters programs down here. There's really not many respected programs here and fighting with thousands of other applicants is discouraging. Not to mention that even the "accelerated" programs are close to 2 years!

Anyway, to those who have been accepted- what are your stats like? Cum. GPA? PreReq GPA? Experience?

Hi all,

I had just called to update my address and found out that I have been accepted for spring. ****** told me that they will be giving your scholarship award in your acceptance package. I am curious on the amount. She said the decisons have been made and they are just waiting on financial aid to send the information to them so they can mail it out. If anyone cannot wait to find out I would suggest giving Nancy a call. Good luck to everyone and I cannot wait to see you all in the spring.
