I just got accepted into U of R's accelerated bachelors nursing program. Just wanted to start a thread to see who else is going there!
For anyone interested, one of the instructors at the school of nursing mentioned there were rumors of a Trader Joe's going in right nearby. I think he said it was within walking distance. Other than that, a lot of friends in class take advantage of us local students and get trips to Wegmans to shop.
Not surprised. For my class, Jan 2011 cohort, there were 256 apps for ~56 spots. I think it's all 56 or so students, 3 cohorts per year? I overheard that the 300 number does not reflect the few hundred apps that are currently "in progress". I'm sure not all of those are actually going to apply, but even if a percentage does it seems this program is growing in popularity. There will be some growing pains since they are running out of room!
I got into the accelerated masters program but I think we are all together for the 1st year. I have never been to Rochester but I am visiting it in about a week to make sure I can see myself there. I currently live in CA so it will be a big change.
I was wondering if anyone knew if it was hard to find housing in Rochester and furnished if possible. I am excited to start the program in May, it is going to come soo soon!
Any help and advice on the area and where to look for housing would be great. Thanks!
I know 300 seems like alot for just 56 spots... It makes me a little anxious. Funny thing is that when I had called in January asking about the Fall class, I was told that there probably won't be as many applications as for the Spring or Summer classes because the Fall class session is new and probably not a lot of people know about it....lol.... guess they were a little off...lol..
I really hope I get in!!!!
What other schools has everyone applied to?
Yeah so now it may be more than 300? For 50 spots? Great...
Naa, I also applied to Brockport, but it's a two year program instead of one (not accelerated). Good thing is, it also cost less: total (for both years) is around 10K vs 55K for Rochester lol
I'm starting to feel like I won't get into either one.
Is anyone else going into the FNP program as well? I have a reserved seat for that program, but I just want to make sure everything works out accordingly. I'm excited for the APNN May 2011 Program
I'm moving to URMC from So. Cal! Any other guys going there from CA? Kudos and good luck to you all.

I just confirmed that everything is in!
I was getting a little worried....
Does anyone know when they will be interviewing for Fall 2011?
