Your clinical experience will be different at the two universities. QUT will mostly be metropolitan but USQ last I looked, has a rural and regional component. If you want to work in beg metropolitan hospitals and would like mostly experience there go QUT if, however you want more rural go USQ. Both have a fair rep for producing good graduates.

Hi, have you looked at ACU. You can transfer while doing the course to other campuses around Australia.

I can recommend ACU. I think it has an excellent program, and a good reputation.

I agree with the above - I have never heard anything but good reports from ACU. The other Campus in SE QLD of course is Griffiths Uni.

is the reputation of university important when seeking employment upon graduation?

No-one really cares which uni you go to, as long as you come out a good nurse.

And stay away from Griffith:rotfl: but seriously :uhoh21:

I agree with MsHB - once you graduate, nobody cares where you got your degree, and nobody'll ask you how you did academically, either. Once you're out on the wards what matters are your clinical skills, how well you interact with people (patients, relatives, colleagues and other members of the team), and how ready you are to acknowledge a mistake or lack of knowledge.

Good luck!

Hey! Griffith was okay. I think it depends on which campus. Gold coast was the best!

You are probably right;)

i have found QUT to be great over my 3 years.. QUT students have a good reputation which is nice when you go out on prac.. the course has been fine, but of course now i am sick of it and can't wait to finish!! i think if you want to study in brisbane, go for QUT or ACU - both are reputable courses.. USQ has a good rep, too, and don't be fooled by the lower entry score - i've heard it's a killer course! (really separates the sheep from the goats, apparently).. the buzz around town is that QUT grads are preferred for the RBH, but in the end it comes down to the individual, naturally.. i am not one for inter-uni rivalry (when i was studying at UQ that's all i heard about), but i agree, if you can, stay away from the "university for the third world".. hahahahaha (GU)

Do griffith U really bad in reputation??

I heard that nursing is quite good in griffith, is that true?? confusing..:uhoh3:
