University of Pittsburgh CRNA Spring 2023

Sorta surprised that there is no post for this current application for Pitt, especially since the application deadline is a month away. Decided to make this thread for people looking to discuss the application process. 

Anyone applying to Pitt? I made a last minute decision to apply just a few days ago, so I'm trying to get all of my things in order to submit on time, haha.

Congrats to everyone that has gotten in so far! 
does anything have any insight on why they have 2 separate admissions deadlines and how they affect acceptances into the program?

From my understanding there is a priority deadline and an actual deadline. Several schools have similar timelines, essentially like an early admission. I’m unsure of how many people submit by the priority deadline vs. the standard deadline and how it affects admissions. I’m curious if there is a cap on admits for priority applicants. I suppose it’s advantageous for one to apply by the priority deadline as there is likely a smaller pool of applicants. I wish I was able to do so, but it was too soon for me haha.

Congrats to everyone that has gotten in and good luck to those who are in the process of applying! I got my call of acceptance last week as well and I'm super excited. Has anyone received an actual email confirming their acceptance? All I got was the call from the dean but I haven't received any emails yet.

I contacted them and they said the email should go out this week. It doesn’t feel real yet until I get the email! ?

Finally submitted my application a couple days ago! Does anyone know the typical response timeframe for those who have been invited to interview?

I'm not sure how the May 1 deadline will work but I submitted my application in December for the February 15 deadline, received an invitation to interview on March 16, and interviewed on March 31. Hope this helps!

Same! Do you know anything about taking a couple classes early? I’m trying to decide if I want to do that to take a load off my plate or just enjoy the last few months of freedom I have…

I tried finding the group on FB and it wasn’t showing up. Maybe it is to be made searchable?

I’m definitely interested in doing more classes early, so I’ll probably reach out to my advisor next week ?
