University of Phoenix

I'm considering taking the LPN to BSN program with Indiana State University but before I do so, I have to take my pre-requisites to enter the program. I have all but 9 of them completed and noticed that University of Phoenix allows you to take individual courses through them which is better suited for me instead of going out nightly to the local community college.

Has anyone taken any classes with the University of Phoenix? After you take the class, do you receive a grade or do you have to take the CLEP test to receive your grade?

Please let me know.

Thanks!

I took alot of my pre-reqs online through my Community College. Have you looked into that? Not sure if it would be cheaper or not, as Ive never looked into University of Phoenix. Good luck!

UoP is expensive, I think.

Sorry, no other help.

I read comments about UoP that described the online courses as a PITA and not worth the high cost. You could do a lot better by doing online courses through your local community college.

I took 3 courses at UOP and was very disappointed. Switched to Gr. Canyon Univ. for my ASN to BSN.

Why not try in state or out of state CCs for your pre-reqs, there are a lot out there that do it. I am going through ccconline to take all my pre-reqs, but I'm in CO so the cost is reasonable.

BTW, if you CLEP a test all you have to do is pick up a study guide off the net, study, and go to a testing center (I think its about 75 per test). You don't have to take a class to CLEP it.

I did my BSN (I was already an ADN) and MSN both via UofP. Yes, expensive, but quick and relatively painless.
