University of Pennsylvania (Penn) MSN - Summer 2026

Published

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to UPenn's MSN programs. I applied to the WHNP program (full-time, Summer 2026 start). From what I understand, we won't hear back until February, which is totally fine. I know the waiting can be tough!

I'd love to hear what programs you're applying to as well. God's blessings to everyone during the process. If it's meant for you, you'll get in!

thats great to hear!! do you know if everyone gets an interview (within the same specialty)?

From what I remember from the information sessions, not everyone will get an interview but if they want to know more about you or put a face to the application then they will ask for an interview.

Yes they do personal interview. I believe its a good thing. Go ahead and knock it out. You will do great!

Really appreciate the encouragement! I need all the luck I can get haha. Wishing everybody else the same as well!

Im glad they responded. I know that was overwhelming to wait. But now we wait till February. What specialty you applied to?

I applied for PMHNP.

I just received an email from the Adult Gerontology Primary Care program director for a video interview for tomorrow afternoon. Super nervous! I did not think there would be a personal interview as well.

Good luck!! I feel like that's a great sign that you're moving on to the next round!

No I didn't apply early. I'm assuming the adult gerontology department requires a personal interview. Hopefully it goes well! Fingers crossed!

I think you are right that adult gerontology is one of the specia;ties that actually does interviews.

I just finished my interview and according to the adult-gero primary care program director, the class size is about 16 students. I guess it's just a waiting game now!

How do you feel? Was it formal or informal?

I feel like getting the interview means you pass the next step right? looking back at past forums people who got in usually say they got an interview.. this is making me so nervous LOL

I didn't see a thread for the semester that I applied to oddly enough, so I'll share in this thread.  I applied for Peds Primary Care for FALL 2026.  Haven't heard from them yet, but all my materials have been received. One of my newest certifications came in a week after the deadline, so hopefully they'll consider that in the application process.

I know peds primary they said it's a 50/50 on whether they will or not.  Hoping somehow I'll be able to get a person to person interview since, admittedly, I got too nervous on the video essay portion

I was nervous on the video essay portion too! But thankfully the personal interview was a lot less nerve wrecking and it felt more like a conversation! Best of luck to you!
