University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, same email here and might I add that my heart is broken.

What are everyone's thoughts on accepting a spot in this last cohort? I am not sure how I feel about this situation. I imagine if something happens and we get behind there will be no way to get caught up. Also, I wonder how this will effect their relationship with Sharp hospitals.

Any thoughts?

Those of us who don't get in the Spring 2010 class, what other programs are you considering? Anyone looked at the Entry Level MSN program at Cal State Fullerton...been thinking about that one too.

Thoughts? Comments?

I am a first semester student right now and we were informed about this situation this past week while in Skills Lab. We were told that if anyone happens to fail, including anyone in the last cohort of Spring 2010, they will continue their education, but be a semester behind. They are really going to try to work with everyone and help finish this program regardless of Oklahoma's economy. Of course we are only allowed to fail one class, but if we do get behind, they will work with us and will finish up. No worries :)

wow, we were just wondering about that too. So they will extend the current students' program if people do fail? woah. That's pretty generous of them, considering a smaller percentage of people actually fail a class in this program. We were thinking they wouldn't b/c you need to arrange clinical/preceptorships for that last semester, as well as community, ATI testing, regular testing, all tlhe group projects, and then graduation. wow, I wonder how it'll all work.

karree2000 - i don't have pm capabilities and i don't want to post her info here. sorry.

I just talked to my adviser today and asked her what she knew about the possibility of SDSU taking over. She said she didn't know a lot right now but that anyone who applies to the spring 2010 cohort and does not get in will immediately be contacted to see what other options there are for them which would include some other sort of program that SDSU may be taking over.

Do you know if this email affects the Glendale program too; it did mention California programs? I am soooo sad to hear this. I had my heart set on this program. I have one more prereq to finish in the spring and was planning on applying for Summer 2010. I will have to call in tomrw to the advisor.

wow, this worries me. thanks for posting.

Yes, unfortunately, it does affect the Glendale campus.

Thank you for replying =D

109 applications were received. 24 students will be offered admission.

LOL this is a sad sad sad day.

Hi ticgroup,

Are those stats referring to Glendale? or SD?

wow, that is a lot of applicants! Does anyone know if SD is still taking a little under 60 like they did for fall?
