Hi All,
I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?
I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nicole
Thanks for the info Miztee222. I was a little bit concerned because I applied for the spring 2010 cohort but I have one course still in progress (physiology) which I understand makes me less desirable than an applicant with all their courses completed. I wonder when they will make that announcement? At least that's some good news :).
Your welcome sungrl222 :)
The advisor said that she would contact me as soon as she kows more information and in parentheses she added "(which should be in a couple of weeks)"
I was so depressed today but your news just lightened up my day again ... thanks for the heads up Miztee222, even though it's unconfirmed, it's the hope that keeps me going :)
you're very welcome :)
I was distressed as well, I just had to know so I called and emailed right after I read the disturbing thread. I am so happy that a solution is on the horizon :) ya know
I wonder if the prereqs will be the same for SDSUs program. I have been working on completing classes for OU program and hopeSDSU is similar but who knows
Hi sdgirl27
I need to complete a few more pre-reqs also. When I contacted the advisor about this Spring 2010 last OU cohort issue she suggested that I hold off on taking any more pre-req classes until they know more about the exact requirements and pre-reqs for admission into the "possibly but more like probably" new SDSU affiliated ASBN program.
I suspect that they will be the same pre-reqs needed to be amitted ino the actual BSN, but I shall wait 'n see.
Hi Everyone, I applied for the Lawton-Duncan campus in Oklahoma, Far as OU's GPA system...I have a 3.5 Cumulative G.P.A, but my science is supremely low, because of the Chemistry and Microbiology, I had a D my first try in Chemistry and a C in Micro (Right now, I'm taking Chemistry again) I think i will be able to manage a B, but if I'm calculating my science G.P.A correctly that would make my Science G.P.A a 2.3, Do you think that even though the science G.P.A is low, that they will look at the Cumulative G.P.A also, and make a judgement based on that, or do they look at the science G.P.A solely, thanks in advance, Angela

In a program info session thatI recently attended the did confirm that they use a point system & when I asked what is included in this point system they said:
1) GPA on the last 60 units
2) Science GPA &
3) the answers to the application questions

That's awesome news since I think I'm gonna have to reapply for summer 2010 because I'm still taking History and Nutrition classes. My heart sunk when I read that email but if it is with SDSU then all hail my alma mater
