Hello! I made this forum to connect with applicants or those planning to apply to UNLV's new MSN program for those with a non-nursing degree. Does anyone know when they'll start reviewing applications? It doesn't say on the website whether it is a rolling admission or not.
@kirbyyy I was accepted into USF (San Francisco location), WesternU, and UOP! I will most likely be attending WesternU unless I get into this school, then I'll have to decide which one I'd rather go to!

It is all in person. I know this because I was talking to the program director for a while about whether or not I would be eligible to apply because I'm from California. She said as long as I will be planning on residing in Nevada by the time the program starts, then I will be okay to apply.
I was going to apply to University of San Francisco as well but thought that it would be too expensive to move there. Is UNLV your first choice? And by any chance, do you know how many applicants they have so far? I know there is less than a month left before the due date unless they changed it. I already paid my deposit for another school but still considering UNLV if ever since it is cheaper and I already live here
kirbyyy said:Hello! I did submit my application already. As for how competitive it is, I'm sure there isn't any information on it yet because it's a new program. UNLV's BSN program is extremely competitive and almost everyone who applies has straight A's on their pre-requisites.
They had an ABSN program that is currently on hold despite being fairly new as well and from what I heard, that program wasn't that competitive. I'm thinking that this MSN program would probably be the same as not many people know about it yet.
I know they still have more information sessions that you can attend and they can probably answer more questions :))
Hi love I have a question. Did you transfer any prerequisites over from other schools? Did they ask to provide a syllabus for those courses? They are asking for a syllabus for each prereq I graduated yeeaaarrrssss ago

When I looked at the course offerings based off the course planner it showed that the courses were all online and the class schedule.

I don't know the exact cost for the nursing program specifically but when I looked online at the graduate school costs it was about $12k for out of state per semester or $3400 for in state per semester. As for how long the program is its 48 units so taking 12 units per semester would be a two year program.
@Nikaroo Hi! I suggest practicing situational questions. I didn't get any questions about nursing school or the nursing career, just random situational questions that are unrelated to nursing.
Also, I still can't find where it says online. I've talked to multiple people and also attended the reviews session, and it was never mentioned that it's online.
