Hello,
I have been searching throughout this forum hoping someone will start a thread for University of MN MSN Fall 2020 admission. I applied for the Masters of Nursing program and will like to connect with others who applied at the University of Minnesota as well.
I am nervous my student profile won't be strong enough, so I just needed to chat with other aspiring nurses to manage the anxiety I feel waiting for an interview email.
Has anyone heard from the admissions team yet?
Best of luck to all who applied.

My kids are on Spring break that week and I'll be unable to attend as I'll be out of state.
Sure! I can let you know what we learn. I made a facebook group for our cohort. Search "UMN Masters of Nursing 2020 Cohort" to join the group! I'll ask the people that go to Preview Day to join and share as well.
Hey guys. This might be a dumb question but is this program considered a master's level nurse? (Similar to St. Kate's). I have recently accepted UMN's offer of admission but I'm also wondering how they are going to run classes/clinicals in the Fall with the COVID situation going on right now. I would hate to spend so much money to just have it be online. I guess we will see! What are your guys' thoughts on this?
@peachy_af Hi! No dumb questions here! Yes, the UMNs Entry Level Masters of Nursing is a Masters. Something to be mindful of, any entry level masters, this includes UMN, St.Kates, and Metro provide you with a general Masters of Nursing or Masters of Science in Nursing, you are not able to specialize in an area (eg Midwifery, Education, Administration...). All three programs do put you in a position where you have earned credits towards your Doctorate if you want to pursue further education.
With regards to Covid, we are all learning every day. I would encourage you to speak to administration at UMN with your concerns and questions. My guess is that anything that can be online without hindering the learning environment will be and that will be the case across the board at all schools. If I remember correctly some of the first semester courses in the UMN Masters program already are slated to be online.
For me personally, I am excited to begin the program in the Fall and trust that if needed UMN will delay the start to ensure that students are safe and getting the education they need.
Good luck and stay well! CONGRATS on getting in!

@peachy_af I'm currently taking Pathology through UMN. I found some community colleges only let you take it (if they offered it) if you were pursuing a degree through them. I was also curious to see whether it'd be harder than if I were to take it through a community college
