  1. I just framed my essay more like a narrative story that addressed each prompt! It did take three days for my application to be verified and I submitted pretty early! I know they said if your application isn't able verified by August 1st, they won't be able to consider it. So definitely submit tonight if you haven't already!
  2. I didn't include the prompts in my essay! I also had a tough time cutting things out, though. 4 pages seems like plenty right up until you start writing! Haha. I would have someone read over your essay and give suggestions about things to cut out. It can be hard as the writer because we think every bit of text is vital to the story but sometimes a fresh set of eyes can do wonders. ?
  3. Hi everyone! I submitted my application about a week ago and an already wishing time would go by faster! Doesn't look like we should expect to hear anything until closer to September. ? Anyone willing to share what kind of shadow experiences they had? The options at my hospital were a bit limited but I'm hoping to get a couple more shadows done this Summer!
  4. Sure! I can let you know what we learn. I made a facebook group for our cohort. Search "UMN Masters of Nursing 2020 Cohort" to join the group! I'll ask the people that go to Preview Day to join and share as well.
  5. I got a facebook group started for us! ? You can find in on facebook titled: "UMN Masters of Nursing 2020 Cohort." https://www.facebook.com/groups/2653188678234259/
  6. I'm taking mine through Riverland CC! Completely online. I've taken many of my prerequisites through the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. Once you've applied to one school, you can take classes at any of the schools in the system (which is super nice when you're taking classes online). And tuition (per credit) is a bit cheaper than at the UofM.
  7. Emails are out!! I was extended an offer and I plan to accept tonight! I hope you all got good news as well so we can all be in a cohort together.
  8. Ohh okay. Well that makes me feel better then! I guess I’ll stop checking my email every 10 minutes, haha. Thanks!
  9. Hey you guys! I was told after my interview that we would hear back at the end of the month (Feb). Were you guys told March? I’m getting antsy ?
  10. @lhanka @lkwindga It looks like our interviews were one after the other! I was at 10 and each slot is 45 minutes long. How do you think your interviews went? I feel really good about mine! It was really conversational and I’m glad I didn’t stress about it.
  11. Congrats!!! When did you sign up for? I chose Tuesday morning, 2/4. Everthing thing I've read says it's pretty conversational but it's hard not to try and prepare since it's so far out! I'm doing my best not to think about it for now, haha.
  12. @lhanka @extasy @abue Hello all! A few of us Fall 2020 cohort applicants have been chatting in a newer thread in the Nursing Students - School/College Programs forum. Come join us if you'd like!
  13. I'm sorry! It would have been nice to be in a cohort with you. Have you thought about applying to St. Kate's? They have a similar Direct Entry MSN program that starts in the Spring of 2021. Their application is due at the end of June and they also use NursingCAS. https://www.stkate.edu/academics/academic-programs/gc-nursing-msn-entry-level
  14. I just got an email instructing me to sign up for an interview slot! I was starting to think we might have to wait until next week but, I’m happy I don’t have to wait out the weekend. Anyone else?
  15. I believe there should be a dropbox for the university you’re attending/have attended that you can change “Still Attending” to “Completed.” Is this what you mean? Heres the NursingCAS Academic Update FAQ site: https://www.nursingcas.org/resource/academic-update-how-to-log-final-grades-in-nursingcas/
