Hi everyone!!! I am new to allnurses.com - I was wondering if anyone has applied for the Fall 2009 accelerated program? I have not been able to attend an information session due to scheduling conflicts. Does anyone know how many people apply to the program or know any "insider" info? I know that 50 people get in every year - I just submited my application last week for the early response deadline - good luck to all!!
Many of us were obsessive about checking Wolverine Access and that's how we found out. I think an email came within a day or two and the letter came in the mail within a week.
Personally, I got a text from Dave telling me he got in so I made the mistake of checking in the middle of my pharmacology lecture and freaked out (oh yes, it completely stopped the lecture) - it's still talked about today. lol It was a happy day. :)
If admissions sticks to their plan to have decisions out by month's end, status should be on wolverine access Friday or Monday. It did show up on my WA before I got the email. I started checking after I met the girl who heard in February. I sent the admissions coordinator the FB page info, I'm not sure if she'll notify the class since it is a not a university created group. I tried to use the title of the actual program on the U of M SON website, and it's a public group, so search for 'University of Michigan 2nd Career Accelerated BSN Program Class of 2012' like you would search for someone's name and it should come up. I'm hoping more class of 2011 students will join (I think we have 3 on there now) and be willing to offer advice throughout the year, too. I'll put up a request on their page. Someone posted an article link on the FB page about why admissions notifies later at U of M if you're interested, too.

If you get accepted in April and have to pay the money at that point, consider yourself lucky! Last year, some of us found out 2 weeks before the program started and had to come up with the money and change our plans right then. If you get in, be thankful. It's competitive.
