University of Miami 2020

Anyone applied for University of Miami this year?

Yay! Finally got an email from UM acknowledging receipt of my application ?

@Drea824 Congrats! I spoke to someone in admissions today and they advise the the admissions committee will be reviewing applications in 2-3 weeks.

@erose29 & @Absngirl23 congrats again on your acceptance! You both had prerequisites still in progress at the time of your acceptance, right? Did they mention that to you at all? Was your acceptance contingent on the successful completion of those classes, or what? I am finishing microbio at the end of this month and finishing statistics at the very beginning of August. I'm wondering if this will cause them to wait to review my application or if they might review it anyway and give me feedback while the classes are still in progress.

Thank you! yup letter says I need to send the transcript with the class completed to them once its completed. I wont be done with the class untill end of July so that definitely wont hold them back on giving you a response

@erose29 great to know, thank you!

@Absngirl23 and @erose29 when it came to your application process (more like journey) were you in constant communication with admissions or Anna or did you just kind go with the flow? Trying to determine, if any, of further steps I should take in finding out any information. I know @Shem10 stated that they will be reviewing the applications again here soon but I'm trying to get a feel on what you two did during this time.

@isj17 I waited and it only two weeks for them to get back to me with my acceptance. Durning the two weeks, i recieved multiple emails updating me like “recieved, under review, canelink account”... I hope this helps a bit.

It did thank you, I guess me graduating in the Spring kind of delayed the decision.

Hi! I am applying to two schools, but I won't hear back from the other one until early September. I know that once you receive an acceptance from UMiami, you have to put down a deposit within two weeks. I'm just curious about how long it has taken for people to hear back once they submit their app (or how long others have been told it will take)?

I know for me once everything got submitted initially and verified then thats when the process started. They are good at sending you emails on the progress of your application i.e. "Application is under review", then from the two in this thread that have been accepted usually two weeks...but it depends on when the admissions committee meets up. Hope this answers your question.

Wow, that's fast! Thanks so much for the information.

I'm visiting UMiami next week, but I'm wondering if any of you could share any information that you have about the program? I don't know much about it besides what I can find on the website. Do you know anything about the class/clinical schedules, housing, quality of teachers/class choices, financial aid and scholarships, etc.?

Also curious if anyone else has looked into Entry MSN programs and has any opinions to offer about that pathway vs. ABSN...thanks!
