University of Miami FNP 2016

Hello! I am wondering if anyone has been admitted to the part time FNP program at UM. I applied this week & I am looking forward to hearing back from them in regards to my application. I would like to know how long to wait after submitting your application through Nursing CAS ? Any information regarding the admission process and the part time program in general would be greatly appreciated

Goodluck! They present on March 29th or April 29th?

Good Morning! I still haven't gotten a call in regards to setting up an interview. You mentioned they will be presenting to the committee on the 29th.....is this bad news for me??? :( I'm so nervous!

Also, were you asked any clinical questions during your interview?

March 29th, I think this is just their first round of interviews. The application isn't due until April 1st so I'm pretty sure they will do another round after the deadline. I've read from other semesters that they do a couple rounds of interviews. So don't panic! I got asked questions about how I handle different cultures and diversity probably because I'm from Texas and don't speak Spanish. I think they just wing it on the clinical questions based on the persons clinical background and personal circumstances. Don't stress too much, just be yourself and have fun with it.

I'll let everyone know when I hear something. I'm very nervous. I realized I didn't add a differential diagnosis to my s/p kidney surgery patient. í ½í¹ˆ

Hello!

when is the next set of interviews?..do they email you or call you to set an interview? Thank you in advanceí ½í¸‰

They will send out an email with time slots available and then you call to set up your appointment.

Got acceptance email for ACNP program! Super excited. They're sending emails for those who have interviewed.

I got accepted to the FNP program, yay!!! Congratulations((:

Congratulations!! See you in August.

Hello everyone, I am also interested in UM's FNP program. I am waiting for my application to be reviewed for fall 2016. For those of you who have applied, what have you heard about the program? What made you choose UM over other FNP schools?

Hi Bluejay21- I applied to the ACNP program. I recently moved here from Georgia, so a huge factor was that UM has the clinical sites preselected and you do not have to do this on your own. I Georgia, the FNP students really struggled to find clinical sites that truly provided them with the necessary experience. I have spoke to several current students of the ACNP program and they have nothing but great things to say about it (with the exception that it is extremely tough going full-time). That was another factor for me. Other school incorporate a large number of graduate core classes, and UM doesn't have that in their curriculum. Best of luck!

hello everyone! I want to congratulate to those that got accepted! CONGRATS :)

Does anyone know when is the next set of interviews? Are you working while attending the full time track?
