Anyone applying to the University of Miami ABSN program for next summer 2012?

Hi everyone :)

I've also applied to UM for Spring 2012! However, I've just sent in my application several days ago and they are waiting on my letters of recommendation. Once they receive all materials...how do you go about checking the status of your application? Do you they give you a temporary UM account?

Also, does anyone know if accepted Spring 2012 students are able to apply to the ABSN Scholarship? The website states a deadline of February 2012 for next year's May and August classes, but it does not mention a deadline for the Spring class. I'm assuming it is the same, and somehow the scholarship would apply retroactively for the first months. I contacted the recruiter several weeks ago, but have not heard back....

bwin88 you have to create an account at myum.miami.edu. You will get a student # and can track your application. Unfortunately, they do not offer the ABSN scholarship for Spring term only for Summer and Fall, that is why the deadline is February 2012.

Where is a good place for students to live? In general, how was the first semester? Any tips for preparing for the program? How are you paying for this large tuition if you don't mind answering. I know I have more questions I just can't think right now. Thanks for your time.

I applied in August for the January 2012 start for the ABSN at Univ of Miami. I got an email late last week saying that my application had been "updated" to May 2012. Any ideas of why? Anyone else in the same boat? Since so many of you have already been accepted, I'm thinking that the program for January is full and my application has been deferred to the summer. I'm not too psyched about waiting another 6 months, but I believe there are more scholarships available for those who begin in the summer.

I applied for January 2012 last week. Just today, myUM was updated to say that it is under review, however, they told me over the phone that they still haven't received my College Official Report form (which is required). She said that myUM is updated once all transcripts are received, even though some other required documents may be missing. I have no idea why you received that e-mail, but on the phone today, the Office of Admissions didn't mention anything about the program being filled up. I know that a lot of people have already been accepted from reading these boards, but the application deadline is October 1st. I hope there are still some spaces available, considering that the deadline hasn't even been reached yet! Please keep me posted if you find out anything else!

I just found out today that I was accepted for January 2012!!! so excited!!
