University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey all, I've been waiting to see a UM ABSN 2018 thread pop up but figured I might as well start one. I submitted my application on March 17 and still waiting for NursingCAS to verify my transcripts. From what I've gathered through past threads, its a rolling admission so I'm hoping to hear back in the next few months! Curious if there's anybody else out there who has applied or planning on applying!

My docs are in for review at UM still waiting on 2 transcripts to arrive.

How long does it takes for you to be accepted in the program?

Yes, that is my plan! I'd be moving from Dallas and have a big dog, so I've been bookmarking places that accept large breeds. I'm hoping to move to Miami the month before school starts so I can settle in and learn the area. One of my teachers had warned me about the flooding and whatnot in Miami. Is it as bad as he says it is? Any residential advice/recommendations for people with dogs?

I hope not, they are supposed to have rolling admissions so I'm sure we'll hear soon.

Yes, I live in Miami. You're going to love it. Miami is a lot of fun and UM is beautiful!

Coral Gables is expensive so I would try to look for a place to live as soon as you get accepted.

That is a good question! As of tomorrow, it'll be one month since I submitted my application. My app on canelink has said "complete" for a little over 2 weeks now

Expect the first round of letters to go out in May. Good luck everyone!

Hi!

How long did it take for you guys to change from "incomplete" to "complete" status on canelink?

I think most of the flooding occurs in Miami Beach. Try going on Zillow and looking at apartments. UMs zip code is 33134, search for apartments nearby. You can also check the Brickell area, you'll be a little far but you'll have the metrorail available if you are not bringing a car.

It took just under 2 weeks from submitting my app to be "complete"
