University of Miami Accelerated BSN spring 2015

Published

Hello everyone, I just wanted to start this thread for anyone interesting or planning on applying to UM for spring 2015. I am finishing up the pre-requisites I need...doing micro class and lab. So far those are the only things I know I have to take. I'm extremely nervous, mainly because of the waiting game to see if I'm accepted or not.

I had to take over class, so I am not too happy about that either, so that also makes me a little down.

Also when I called the other day, someone said they are changing the application process, did anyone else hear that information?

Are you guys finish with all your pre-requisites?

Do you know how much repeating a class puts you in the hole for not getting accepted?

Is anyone currently in the accel. program, or know someone who is? Just curious as to what we should be brushing up on before class starts.

Does anybody know if a general nutrition class will count for therapeutic nutrition which is one of the pre-reqs?

Who have you guys been contacting from the University in regards to your admissions decisions? I spoke with someone from the nursing department, and she said they haven't made any decisions yet?

I was told that any type of nutrition course will count for that requirement

Hey adonz510,

I don't know if you are a Florida SUS student but any of the nutrition courses (human nutrition or the nursing level therapeutic nutrition) are accepted.

I think they're doing it in the order they received applications.. when did you turn yours in? It seems like people that have gotten decisions applied early August. I applied early Sept and don't have a decision yet

The application period is still open for another two months so I'm a little surprised they are handing out admission decisions already.

I agree it's surprising

Hey everyone! I got my acceptance friday sept 26 in the mail. I didn't really look at caneslink so I don't know when my unofficial acceptance was. Finished my application on 8/17. Looking forward to January!

congrats alexvalle!

do you mind saying what your gpa/credentials looked like?

overall gpa: 3.48

pre-req gpa: 3.67

I still have a&p labs pending that I am finishing in december as well as nutrition and human growth and development. All will be finished by december. Seem to be going by GPA mostly since the LOR was not submitted until today and I was already accepted.
