If you've been accepted to the "U" for either the Accelerated or basic BSN Fall 2009 program...introduce yourselves. I got into the ABSN & want to get know any future Canes. =)
Hey, Thanks for all those helpful tips!
I am starting this upcoming Fall '09. These are the courses I am going to take:
NUR304 AX 6 M 8:00-11:20 A A. Vega
NUR307 FX 3 M 1:00-3:30 P N. Apatov
NUR314 QX 3 T 1:00-2:40 P J. Sikkema
NUR315 NX 3 T 8:30-11:0 A TBA
Do you have any advice or tips on how to study, for the courses with these particular professors?
And I also read from previous threads that not all books are necessary, that some class notes are enough. Which books are a must have? Which books should I save my money and not buy?

Hi...I'm currently in the Summer 09 program. We're about 2 weeks away from finishing our first semester. Congratulations on being accepted. Here are a few helpful tidbits:
1)Cancel your gym membership...you won't have time to use it. If you skip lecture to go to the gym, don't plan on doing well on the tests.
2) If you're in a relationship buy your partner a nice year-long trip to somewhere nice. You'll see them about the same amount of time, and this way they won't be mad. They'll think, "Hey...I'm on a year-long trip to Paris."
3) Buy the $50 stethoscope. You don't need the $200 one, and everybody likes the $50 one better anyway.
4) Remember...it's never too late to fail! We only have 2 weeks left and 50% of our grade is still up for grabs in most of our classes.
5) It all seems fun at first....then at around week 3 it gets REALLY deep REALLY fast!
6) When your pharmacology teacher sends you a study guide, and says "know this for the test." It's not merely a suggestion.
7) There's one class you'll have that you just have to treat like an online-course and learn on your own. You'll figure out which one it is around week 4. Good luck with that.
You all get to do in 15 weeks what we did in 10, so it might not be so rough for you. I wish you all the best. Remember, repeatedly hitting your head against a wall is always a good way to relieve stress.
