U.S.A. Maryland

I was wondering if there was anyone out there that applied last fall that could tell us when they learned the fate of their application? I was just wondering how long we (Fall 2009 applicants) would have to wait until we hear back from the admissions office. Thanks and good luck to everyone else!

ok people..........i got my status updated today!

ADMIT INSTITUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am too speechless/verklempt to post a substantial reply. thanks everyone for the support. ill remain 'subscribed to this thread'.

Woww!!!Congratulations!!!! Happy for you..told ya stay patient:wink2:...What campus are you going to??

I spoke with the admissions office..they told me that they should have mailed out the letters by the end of this week, so we should expect them some time this week. :) I hope I'll be able to maintain my B in Mico b/c it's getting pretty tough..:redbeathe

Congrats angelp71 and everyone else who has been accepted to UMB for Fall 09'. I'm excited to have found this thread I apply in September for Spring 2010.

Congrats Angel!

First I will start by saying congrats angel!!!! I have a question for the current students, do we have to write a lot of papers?

After reading through this post I realized that the tiny line reading "Admit-Institution" means I am accepted, yay! Does anyone know the timeline for financial aid awards etc? I read on here than acceptance letters may not come for awhile so that makes me think this process might move quite slow. I am considering Hopkins which starts in June but would like to know my financial status here before comitting. Is it an unrealistic hope to find out anything in the next couple months?

Nope, the only papers I can think of for the first semester is one for Informatics and a Care Plan for Intro.

Specializes in NICU.

"Write papers for the 1st semester?", not really... just informtics you have a 1500 word paper and a group proj, then your care plan for clinical, but that is about it for the 1st semester....

For the one asking about financial aid... you need to be proactive, go on the UMB financial aid site and print and fill out all the forms you need. For example, if you are getting hoping to get a loan, make sur eyou fill out the loan papers on the financial aid page... read through it, its there somewhere.... DO NOT wait on fin aid to tell you what to do, becuase they won't... UMB is great, but their fin aid and office that verifies your shots really lag and neglect to tell you things until it is almost too late... so BE PROACTIVE about all your personal issues relating to school (finances, shots, etc) If you did your FAFSA and put UMB down as your school of choice, then you will eventually see that too... its on the SIMSWEB website, that you will soon get instructions for with your welcome packet....

Hey guys,

I finally got my acceptance letter today :yeah::yeah:....So now i can call it official..lol...be on the lookout for yours :)...I'm going to Baltimore campus right across street from my house :). I'm not sure why I've been classified as Out of State, but I'll have to fix that. They're asking for $400 tuition deposit in 2 weeks..wow!!

well let me convey my official congrats then! Ill be on the lookout.

update...just got mine too. looks like they sent out a batch yesterday. I was also classified as out of state which is strange considering ive lived in md all my life.

Congrats to all. If I remember right, you will be "qualified" as in-state shortly - that's done by a different department. The $400 deposit is applied to your tuition due in September.

Thank you for this information! Do you have clinicals every week your first semester? How hard is it to get an A in all classes. I've been accepted for F09 shady grove and worried about keeping up my gpa.
