Anyone applied to the UHV 2nd nursing degree?
HOw was it?
Is the program accredited?

I thought I answered the question about the computer interview. Nevertheless, if they do it the way they did it for us, you will go into a computer lab with other applicants and you will need to log into the UHV system so make sure you know your username and password. You will be given a prompt (question) that you will have 10 minutes to answer. I can't remember our specific prompt but it was something about going into the nursing profession or something like that.
Remember, this may totally change. I can only tell you what I experienced.
@ Jeanster - I have a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in eCommerce. If it makes you feel better, I received an invitation to join the Nursing Honor Society and I'm graduating Summa Cum Laude. Your previous degree, regardless of what it is, can only help you. Additionally, in case there are 'older' students out there that are worried about their age and changing careers...I'm the third oldest student in the program and I've done just fine. :anpom:
Jeanster.....
I have a Bachelors in Accounting......worked in the accounting/finance/IT for 10+ years.....when I went back to school for my nursing pre-reqs i realized that I struggled more in my accounting courses than in my nursing pre-reqs(4.0 in my science classes). With age comes wisdom.
JSanz 8 is right about your previous experience will only help you no matter what your background is.....
I too am no spring chicken but I 'm a little older and wiser. It all boils down to being focused and disciplined no matter what program/career you're going into.
Thanks JEPF. You made me feel better! :)
I will attend the UHV orientation with an open mind as well. I mean...I wouldn't have applied to the program if I didn't think I was capable of it.
I've just started to doubt myself lately. I just want to be sure I will get a good job when I get out. I'm just anxious about it all.
From JSanz8 former post
"Nursing residencies (internships) are paid nursing positions offered at some hospitals where they give you extensive training and a preceptor to work with instead of throwing you into a working environment cold turkey. Check the Methodist site for more information. I believe St. Lukes, MD Anderson and Memorial Hermann as well as the County have Graduate Nurse internship programs but they only take applications during certain times of the year."

Jsanz8 can you send me a private message responding the question I asked about the computer at the interview? Thanks
