Sorry for such a late response, but here you go...

I applied to UHV's 2nd degree program and got accepted. I start this coming Tuesday. The program is still new and the first students to graduate from this program (from what I heard) took a gamble because the school was not accredited at the time of their acceptance. Luckily, the school received its accreditation this past October I believe and is now a fully accredited nursing school :)

I can't say as to how they decided upon their applicants because I'm really not sure. It seems as though there is a very diverse group in my class. There are 48 total that have been accepted of which 12 will be assigned to the Katy/Cinco Ranch campus and the rest in Sugar Land.

If you have more specific questions, please let me know as there is A LOT I could tell you! :)

HI Kstar101,

I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit more about the program. I'm thinking of applying for this spring and wanted to know more about it cause it's relatively new. What is the average cum gpa, science gpa, and teas coming in? Is it a competitive program to get into? Is it really hard? How are the professors? I personally know about 3 of them because they taught at a nursing program I used to be in.

Hello! I too am applying for spring 2011 admission. Can someone give some information on how difficult the program actually is? How intense is the schedule and where do you do you clinicals?

I am currently finishing up some preqs this summer and taking the TEAS in August.

Any information would be helpful.

It's okay...deadline for UHV is October 1.

I am also taking the TEAS on August 27th and hoping to be accepted for Spring 2011! I am just finishing my Govt II class because they didn't accept the one from my first BSN degree. Guess it didn't have TX government in it.

I have also applied to a RN ADN program at Lone Star and should get in no problem. But, I REALLY want to get into this program.

Does anyone know how many applied for Fall and how many got in?

It went really well. Can't remember my individual scores off the top of my head but was in the 99 percentile nationwide. The woman who administered test said she thought my scores were great...so that encouraged me. I have submitted my TEAS scores, all my transcripts, my nursing CAS application and my CPR card. I just have to have my last Hep shot and the Flu vaccine and then I can submit those. I am soooo wanting to get into this program. Have you heard from anyone anythign about it? It is so new I am having trouble getting info on it!

Congrats! I am so scared and so not ready to take mine. I hope I do well because its my only shot since I am applying for the fall. I have just about all of my transcripts in but one. I am so last minute with this. I have taken all shots i just need to submit all my info now (cpr record and immunization). Nursing CAS has just about everything except for one transcript. This process is really detailed because some of my transcripts i had to send over and over again and you have to check and make sure that both places have everything. What pointers can you give me on the TEAS. Was it alot of life science? i am worded about the math portion since thats is a weakness of mine.
