University of Hawaii-MEPN PROGRAM...anyone heard about it?

Published

I'm applying for UH MEPN program for Fall 2009. Has anyone heard about the program? It's fairly new but I just want to know what I'm getting myself into...lol. I know overall, nursing school is tough but would like some feedback on the MEPN program itself.

Thanks!

are you in state?

I am. I have been here two years now. I am a mainlander. My undergrad is from the mainland.

I am out of state and haven't heard anything. Maybe they are doing in-state people first since they can come in for an actual interview?...

I am out of state as well. Nothing here yet.

Hopefully we all hear something soon. Waiting for all these schools decisions is so nerve wrecking!! Holding my breath and thinking positive thoughts :)

Hi everyone,

I am out of state and got a call and e-mail yesterday afternoon about interviews for Friday over the phone. I want to fly out for the interview and was wondering if any applicants in Hawaii know when the in person interviews are???

I can leave as soon as Monday but I did not get a reply back yesterday about traveling for the interview and wanted to start planning.

Also, I went through the interview process last year. I do not know if they have changed the format but my interview was only about fifteen minutes and they asked me why I was choosing nursing, why I was pursuing my specialty, what my second choice would be as a specialty, how I prioritize and I was asked to tell them about a challenging situation and how I handled it.

The conversation just consisted of me answering the questions. It was short but I was accepted last year so do not be down on yourself if the interview does not last long!

Good luck!

Margs, thank you for sharing your interview experience! Just curious... why did you not take your acceptance last year?

Regarding the interviews, I was told there is no separation of in-person vs. phone interviews days and times. There are just interviews.

Also told 20 minutes allotted per interview.

Hello everyone,

I applied to this program as well and super nervous if I am going to get an interview. I was wondering do all of you have really high stats is that why you got an interview? I have no idea exactly what graduate schools want from you. They say they look at your overall package but then I got a rejected letter from another school because they only take you if you have a 3.8 GPA. Like seriously??

Does anyone know if they are done calling for interviews yet?

at the info session they said the avg gpa of people that get accepted is 3.5-3.6

I hope they are not done, but, I am thinking they are since interviews are being held this coming friday.
