I'm applying for UH MEPN program for Fall 2009. Has anyone heard about the program? It's fairly new but I just want to know what I'm getting myself into...lol. I know overall, nursing school is tough but would like some feedback on the MEPN program itself.
Thanks!
I think any master entry nursing program is very competitive but I think you have an advantage that you are a male. And male nurse is in demand!! i do recommend you apply to other programs as well and not put all your eggs in one basket. However, I do feel your pain being in Boston though. It sucks!!! I was in Hawaii in January and I fell in love and is having dreams that Hawaii will one day call me!! I did apply to a few places in Boston.

Thanks for your encouragement! :)
Though, I've heard the male advantage thing is a myth - so, who knows. But I can use any help I can get.
Me three. I tried calling admissions several times this week and no one even answered the phone, nor did they call back when leaving a message. Becoming a bit discouraged by the lack of contact or information. Anyone else hear from admissions who's speciality is FNP?
SAME. I am super discouraged. I heard from them once saying they had everything and that was that. I have tried emailing, but the email contact i have is for the wrong department. Apparently the nursing school and graduate school department are very separate from one another. this is what i was told in an email: "I'm not exactly sure where in the process your file is over at the School of Nursing. I do know that the committee was planning to meet in late January. I'm sorry but that's all the information I currently have since the graduate programs handle their own admission committees."

Yea, I feel like this is a bit unorganized. I only received two e-mails. One stated they were missing information, but then 5 minutes later they apologized for an error made, and that the e-mail was not meant for me. So, overall I am just very unsure of this whole thing. I hope we all have some answers soon because being in the dark is no fun.

Hawaii's the only place I applied. Sort of as a feeler, I guess. I'm not sure if I can do another Boston winter (especially with the lack of sun!).
With how competitive these accelerated/2nd-career programs seem to be, I have no idea if I'll get in any place!
How about you?
