University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Published

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

I agree. I think more will be released today.

Hey guys I need some advice. So there are a couple other schools I would like to apply for, granted I'm denied here, how do you go about asking thf references to send another one? IDK why but I feel embarrassed asking but these references are the best I can get currently. Does nursing CAS transfer them over to a new app or do they need to resend them?

At this point may the odds be ever in your favor. I am still waiting as most of us are.

There are still schools open in Nursing CAS which is the next option if I don’t get into the PT PMHNP program.

For those of you who have been accepted, I would like to personally congratulate you!

In other news, I played with cows today and it was amazing!

Which schools are you thinking of to apply if you get a no from UF? I plan to do the same, but haven’t looked closely.

I started applying for other schools that have open seats. As far as transcripts and like educational information they keep it, but they do have different document requirements and yes you’ll need 3 references again because it’s different kinds of people they look for in a rec letter for every school (I.e professor, DNP grad, management).

Guess not today either ?

I’m thinking the next batch sill come after the people on the 28th accept/decline their seats

I’m theorizing that the top applicants are the people who were notified first, and they’re still working down the list. Not a single person has received a denial yet—based off this forum.

Specializes in ER/ICU.

Does anyone else feel like this is very inconsiderate of UF to make us wait this long? I’ve been accepted into another good school but UF is my dream school and would love to go there however I’m losing faith in them as I believe they should have already had a better plan in place for the influx of applicants.

It is inconsiderate. At least you got accepted into another really good school. So you have a place to go if UF takes too long.
