University of Florida Accelerated Nursing Program 2017

I know the applications don't open for another month, but I have been reading the threads from previous programs and wanted to start one for ours!

Anyone looking to get into the ABSN program at UF, Summer 2017?

Go Gators!

Does any one else feel like January has been like 3 months long?! Lol, I am so happy tomorrow is finally February, the month we will find out if we are Gator Nurses! í ½í¸Ší ½í¸Ší ½í¸Ší ½í¸š Here's to checking our email every hour for the next few weeks!

Yeah I'm disappointed we don't hear earlier than they did last year since the application deadline was moved up by two weeks. Every day I wait.... Lol

Hi guys... I know what you mean, January has been a beast!

I also applied for Summer 2017 to both campuses. I am hoping to get accepted into the UF Health campus! I think its so weird that we didn't have interviews, does anyone else think that is weird.

Yeah I thought that was weird, too jonas23x. I had an interview with the school I plan on going to if I don't get into UF and I also was scheduled for an interview at UNF. Even a phone interview at a program out of state.

Let us know if you email him! I'm trying not to think about it but I do every damn day.

Gahh this wait is killing me! I emailed Kenneth today hoping he'd have something more specific than "end of February" but he didn't. He just said we'd hear via email by the end of February. Bummer. Hang in there, everyone! I must've checked my email at least 100 times today :nailbiting: :nailbiting: :nailbiting:

Has anyone heard from Mr. Wynn about a more specific decision date?

No and the wait is officially killing me. They must know by now; they just need to get the darn letters out!

What is everyone's plan with working during school? Are you going to work or take out student loans? I'm a single mom of 2, so I am hoping I'll be able to work, but very nervous about taking on too much!

My plan is to work until I can't. I am a substitute teacher so instead of working all 5 days, I will probably cut it down to just a few if nursing school becomes overwhelming. I imagine an accelerated program will be very rigorous so I'm just going to play it by ear. I'm lucky to have that option because my income is not our only household income and I have free childcare (from family). I'm not sure how I'd work it out if that were not the case.

I plan on working as long as I can but also taking out loans regardless of which school I attend. If I don't get into UF, then I'm doing a BS-BSN program online, which gives me more flexibility. I work as a CNA so I can hopefully still manage 2 shifts a week and have some income, but it won't be enough to cover tuition so I'll be taking out a loan for that. I'm per diem at my job so I have the flexibility to pick and choose how many days and which days I want to work (if any) every week.

Decisions are out!!! I got in!!! Jax campus!!! It's unreal!!!!
