I'd like to start a thread to keep updated with everyone's timeline from "Application Received" to "Hired" or anything in between. I didn't see a post and wanted to start one.Â

The critical care fellowship program is for new grads. It's just another word for the ICU float pool. And thanks!! 🙂

Just wondering I heard UC Davis was on a hiring freeze since Jan, is this affecting the nursing cohort or is there an exception?Â

Received an invite for periop today, looks like interviews are still continuing throughout the next 2 weeks for the October cohort!Â
Does anyone know how many people are usually on the panel and if the manager is present?Â

Congrats! and thanks for letting us know. My application just says reviewed, and it's been like that for a while.

I had 10 people on my interview panel. The managers and the unit director were present. Hope that helps, but I hear it does vary though with which unit specifically is interviewing. Good luck you got this!

Thank you so much for the info!

They're just slow in general if I'm being honest. Hard to tell how it's affecting the current cohorts unless you know someone from the inside. But just expect them to be slow.Â
Per HR, interviews can actually take place all the way up until September 9! But it varies by dept, some are quicker than others!
I've had 2 interviews for medsurg, manager was present for one, not present for the other. 3-4 on the panel. There will almost always be at least one floor nurse sitting in. Good luck!

Ah right, thank you for clarifying the dates!Â

Can anyone provide tips/ example questions you were asked in the interview? I need to prepare for other nursing interview? Â

There were a lot of behavioral/situational questions, as well as some clinical scenario questions for my specific specialty! For the behavioral questions sit down and make a list of stories from clinical where you demonstrated traits like teamwork, collaboration, family-centered care, cultural sensitivity etc. so that when you get the "Tell me about a time you showed ___" you have a good example ready to go. It's a lot easier to have a few REALLY good stories where you demonstrate multiple traits that way you can reference it easier and tweak it for the type of question they are asking, rather than 10 different stories for 10 different traits. For any clinical questions just take your time and it's totally okay to jot down some notes when they present the scenario to you so that you can go back and critically think through it. Be prepared to tell them WHY you want to work at their hospital/unit specifically, know what they stand for! If you did clinicals at that hospital a big bonus would be to mention that you did, and talk about what specifically you saw at their hospital that made them stand out to you. The best advice I ever got is to really show them your personality because at the end of the day they're also looking for someone who will fit into their unit culture. Hope any of this helps!
Were you able to get an offer? Did you do the reference check?Â
