What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing the application process and status updates for a New Grad RN program at UC Davis Health, specifically focusing on reference checks, interview experiences, and offers for different units like Operation Room (OR). Members are sharing their experiences with reference requests, discussing the possibility of being considered for future cohorts, and seeking advice on starting inpatient versus outpatient roles. Additionally, successful applicants are sharing information about onboarding processes and previous experience in the OR.

I'd like to start a thread to keep updated with everyone's timeline from "Application Received" to "Hired" or anything in between. I didn't see a post and wanted to start one.

Congrats! I was wondering if both of you guys had previous OR experience? I want to work in the OR but I don't have any experience. How did your application stand out?

Thank you! Yes, me and my friend had our senior preceptorships in ORs. I also know one person who got hired after pre-op/PACU preceptorship.

I also had OR experience (OR elective, OR preceptorship). I had my BLS and license. I think I was able to stand out because during my interview I tied a lot of my answers to my OR experience. Working as a surgical tech, anesthesia tech, or PCA could boost your app too I believe!

I've also got an offer for OR! Congrats colleague ☺️ onboarding emails with directions should be received in 3-5 business days.

I also got an offer as well in the OR! So excited!

Can't wait to work with you in the future!! I completely agree with everything in the above text! I would also recommend volunteering (I volunteered at UC Davis my senior year of high school), shadow opportunities, ACLS, & PALS.

Hahaha. That's wonderful, looks like we are having the gang of OR nurses here 😁

That's so cool you had senior preceptorship in OR, my school would not allow speciality preceptorships so I didn't get any opportunities to enhance my application with that.

Hi guys! Did anyone get an offer for E7 Neuroscience?

Hi guys,

for references did you guys use managers plus also professors and clinical instructors?

Hey! For my references, I used two previous managers, 1 professor, and 2 nurse preceptors.

Specializes in IseeU.
