Members are discussing the application process and status updates for a New Grad RN program at UC Davis Health, specifically focusing on reference checks, interview experiences, and offers for different units like Operation Room (OR). Members are sharing their experiences with reference requests, discussing the possibility of being considered for future cohorts, and seeking advice on starting inpatient versus outpatient roles. Additionally, successful applicants are sharing information about onboarding processes and previous experience in the OR.
I'd like to start a thread to keep updated with everyone's timeline from "Application Received" to "Hired" or anything in between. I didn't see a post and wanted to start one.

My guess is that it's gotta be the cover letter, because I am routed for consideration and have had zero clinical or preceptorship experience at UC Davis.

I think you can email HR and clarify when it was routed. I got a call 1.5 weeks after I got routed but HR told me you can get a call up to 2-3 weeks before the start date, that would be all the way into July-August!
Same. I think I just made amends to not getting routed. Who knows what they look for given they clearly do not consider your senior preceptorship. As many were invited to interview for units of specialty they didn't have any type of experience in. Others haven't even started a preceptorship and have been hired. Nothing makes sense.
It is starting to feel very daunting emotionally, physically and any other way you can possibly put it into words.
Next application I'll just say "hire me please" on my cover letter LOL.

Out of curiosity, where have you heard that those who haven't even started a preceptorship have been hired? The farthest I've seen anyone report so far has been a reference check...

I say don't lose hope unless your application status changes to "no longer under consideration"! Routing/interviewing can go through September for the October cohort, so if you're still under review it's okay 🙂 there are a few more months of possibilities!
