Does anyone have any experiences or insight on the University of Calgary? I'm specifically looking at their BNAT program since I already have a bachelors degree. It would also be useful to get a feel for nursing in Alberta in general or what it's like to live in Calgary. I've been living in Montreal for the past 5 years and although I love this city I'm really keen to go west, I just want to make sure it's a good choice school. It makes me a little nervous that they just switched over to guaranteed acceptance at 3.0, but as long as it's sufficiently rigorous and a good educational experience I won't worry about it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Hi TanFran,
I just got accepted for the Jan 2012 program as well =)! So from one classmate to another, Hello! lol. Have you been in touch with anyone else in the program? It would be great to get to know some of you before classes actually start in January. Perhaps we could start a facebook group?
Hey VeeBee,
Helllooo! I am so excited to start and meet everyone! I have not talked to anyone else in the program yet. It would be nice to get to know some people in the program! You/we/I should totally start one! :) It would be nice to get some tips for nice areas to live from some people local to Calgary too...
Hi TanFran! WOW, you replied as soon as I got back to my computer haha! If you have skype, feel free to add me - I've emailed you my skype name :)! On that note, would you actually be interested in cohabiting with a fellow student in the same program? I am interested in having a few roomates so that we can all get through the good times and the bad together and it'll be cheaper haha! Let me know if that is something you are interested in! Until then, I'll get on to making a facebook page! Hopefully, I'll speak with you soon :)!
Please be very cautious about sharing that sort of information on this site. You may not provide a link to your Facebook page here. See the Terms of Service. I suggest that you go to your user control panel and ensure that you've selected that you are willing to accept email from other members and make these sorts of revelations privately.
Lucky,
I think the cut-off was a 3.5...don't quote me on that though!
Glim,
I am from Victoria, and i've only been there once, in the summer, so I am not going to be very prepared for the cold, or helpful to you! haha. I am looking for apartments right now to move into....so far all the ones I have found on Craigslist have been scams

I started the accelerated track in January 2009. Finished this past August. Admittance at that time was strictly based on GPA of your last 10 courses and it was also a competitive GPA meaning if there are 10 seats available, out of all those people who applied, the 10 people with the highest GPA would get in. This would obviously change from year to year. That was my understanding anyway... Things may have changed by now so I'm not completely sure what their process is now.
