  1. VeeBee! You are lucky you have been in cold weather already haha, I have literally only been very cold once when I flew into Edmonton in October haha. Do you know if we can live in res for only a few months? My fiance is flying out in March, so I don't want to commit to a semester or year there. We could meet up before for sure to get to know one another! We are going to have to kill 6 days there before school starts anyways! Do you know where exactly we need to drop off our Criminal Record Checks? I am most likely getting there on the 3rd and will need to rush around and find the appropriate person! lol
  2. Yaaaa BC! We can freeze our butts off together! Yea I need to invest in some good long johns for sure! If you can somehow figure out how to message me, we can totally exchange our emails!
  3. Lucky, I think the cut-off was a 3.5...don't quote me on that though! Glim, I am from Victoria, and i've only been there once, in the summer, so I am not going to be very prepared for the cold, or helpful to you! haha. I am looking for apartments right now to move into....so far all the ones I have found on Craigslist have been scams
  4. Hi Grace! Congrats to you! We all got in, I'm excited! Are you from Calgary?
  5. Hey! I do have Skype, but really suck at it. I never go on it! I would be interested un having some roomies, but my boyfriend/fiance is coming over in March to live with me, so he might not like that idea hahah, It would be A LOT cheaper though! How should I find you on Facebook?
  6. Hey VeeBee, Helllooo! I am so excited to start and meet everyone! I have not talked to anyone else in the program yet. It would be nice to get to know some people in the program! You/we/I should totally start one! :) It would be nice to get some tips for nice areas to live from some people local to Calgary too...
  7. Hey Guys! Anyone here going to start the after degree program in Jan. 2012? I just got accepted and I am so excited! I wonder what the GPA cut off was for it?
  8. Smiley, Thank you so much for your detailed answer and information! I think I have made a bit of progress with my decision. I absolutely love BC, and I will for sure come back home to work here when I graduate, so I am just looking into how that would all work. I am under the impression, that the exam is a National exam, so it would be ok to get a degree from there and come back to work! I have not taken the BCIT courses, but I have other ones that I am pretty sure would count towards my elective courses :) Lots of Pysch, Stat, Math, History, blah blah... I do have a tough choice to make, and I am going to decide today. I think tt would be so great if I chose U of C and got someone on this same thread into BCIT! decisions....decisions...eeeep!
  9. Fiona, I only took grade 12 Bio and Math... I took 3 math courses in Uni and a lot of my Sciences too! Plus, I'm already accepted to the U of C program, so I guess in Alberta you really do not need all your Science 12's.
  10. Wow! That's for all your responses guys! They just started a new accelerated program at U of C (2 years) last January! the old one is being phased out and they changed a few things. I have a degree in Psychology already, and I didn't take my grade 12 science classes. I've heard the Chinooks are pretty awesome breaks from the cold weather! Looks like I have some serious decisions to make soon!
  11. Hey Smiley! Thank you so much - I was soo stoked to get into both, but now its hard! I haven't recieved my U of C package yet (so I do not know a whole lot about it)..so I was wondering if anyone here has been or has applied or been accepted into that program! I've heard so many great things about BCIT on this thread and others, I do not want to make a wrong choice! The U of C program is 2 years, so i'm basically thinking 2 years of really really intense work or 3 years of intense work? haha...I'm from Victoria, so If I go to Calgary, I might just freeze to death!
  12. Hey Guys! Congrats to everyone who got into BCIT! Does anyone know anything about how the U of C program is though? I got into both for this Jan, and I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO! lol
  13. Hey Guys! I am totally new to this thread! :) congrats to everyone who got in!! whooo hooo!! Does anyone know anything about U of C's accelerated nursing program? How the learning style is? overall rating of profs? Vacation time for holidays? I got accepted into both for this January and I do not know what to do!! Any information would be awesome!
