Hello, future nurses!
I'm a current U of C student who applied through the degree holder route. I'll be graduating at the end of this year. Please feel free to post any questions here!
Another round of applications is starting soon for the January 2019 intake of Transfer and/or Degree Holder students. Here's the U of C page for their info:
One of the most common questions is whether the courses you have taken meet the faculty's pre-requisites. The best way to be sure is to email a screenshot of your transcript to [email protected] and ask if you are missing anything.
Important note! As of 2019, the faculty is changing the schedule for the summer terms.
"We will compress all courses in Term 4 and Term 7 to be offered over a 9-week period from late April to the end of June. The result would be an intense spring term, but students would have no scheduled nursing courses during July and August."
While having 2 months off sounds great for some, it causes trouble for others (student loans, jobs, child care etc.). Please be aware of this change before applying.
Best of luck!

Awesome! I will call the department today and see if they have it. I got an email from Apply Alberta stating that the transcripts have been sent so hopefully it went through. I'm super anxious to know, my job needs me to train my replacement and we need to start selling our old stuff if we're moving up there so the sooner the better!
@maria94 that does help a lot! Thanks! Excited to hopefully start in January's and meet you all! Does anyone know what a typically week will look like? Trying to keep my job but not sure what school schedule will be like.
There are two schedules and you will be randomly assigned to one of them. You will have class 4 days a week and get either Monday off or Thursday off. If you have Monday off, then Thursday will be your full day clinical day (8 hours), and vice versa. On Tues, Wed, and Fri, your day will go from 8am to around 4pm/5pm (lecture in the morning, lunch, and then lab/clinical in the afternoon).

At the risk of sounding harsh, perhaps your use of language is part of your difficulty. As has been stated many times on allnurses.com, this is a professional social media site and an expectation exists that professional-level language be used. Your post is barely intelligible.
Hi Elise,
I read Kenobi's thread about being randomly assigned into one of two schedules, and I have this question about whether or not we need to register courses ourselves. I asked my three friends who are currently U of C students enrolled in different programs, and are in their third year, and they all told me I need to register courses myself.
When I just did today, I found like what Kenobi said three courses have pre-set lecture schedule which are Tue. Wed., and Fri. morning, and the schedule of the 4th class is TBA, so I'm guessing this 4th class is the one Kenobi mentioned. Either we are assigned on Monday or Thursday to have lecture of the 4th class. Also location of the other pre-scheduled courses is one of rooms in ST. Usually rooms in ST are huge, so I'm assuming we all need to register course ourselves and we have three courses we study all together with the 4th one assigned to two different schedules.
Has anyone received official admission letter and the student's hand bool package yet?

Yes, you are absolutely correct! In your acceptance package there will be instructions on which courses and sections to register for. The course with the TBA schedule is indeed the lab/clinical course where you will be randomly assigned to one of two schedules.
