University of Calgary Fall 2021 Transfer

Hello, I wanted to start the Fall 2021 admission process thread. I applied end of October and I'm having my application evaluated now. After speaking to admissions they said the competitive GPA for early admission is 3.7-3.9. I think by now it's common knowledge that unfortunately, they have about 25 transfer seats available and over 1000 applicants (for high school and transfer I'm assuming, I'm praying because that would be ridiculous). Hoping to connect with others in the same boat, transferring from other schools or U of C itself.

I'm applying with a 3.81 and I emailed the admissions office about when they would get back to us. They said mid June to July so to hear that transfers are getting accepted is good to hear!

Hi!

Is the 3.8 cutoff guess for all transfers or just for early admissions? I am applying with a 3.7something and getting really anxious I might be too low.

I think it will be 3.8 cutoff for all transfers because it was like that for the Winter 2020 admissions. I had around a 3.7 that time too and was put on waitlist till I got rejected. So hopefully you'll at least be added to the waitlist for this admission, wish you good luck! ?

Awh dangit that is kind of a bummer! I had read previous years it was down around the 3.5 range so I was a bit more hopeful. I guess COVID has made everything more competitive.

Anyone else get the waitlist or accepted stamp on their application? I noticed mine updated to the waitlist today. Just wondering what my odds are!

So I just checked myuofc and I haven't received any status update. What time did you log on to myuofc and see that your status changed? I thought they usually send out an email about status changes.

They didn’t send me anything by email, but the status change said my GPA is lower than the current admission standard, and that I am on the waitlist until they can determine if there is enough space in the program.

No they didn’t say anything ? I emailed them asking though!

hey y’all, I was just wondering if anyone else’s application disappeared from their MyUcalgary? I went to check my status and it said “you have no pending application” but I haven’t received any message from them, no acceptance/denial. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
