Hello, I applied for the UofC transfer route for Fall 2019, right now I have a 3.82 gpa but I am predicting I'll end up around a 3.7. I want to meet other applicants so if you applied for Fall 2019, say hi!
Thank you @Michaela1999 . You're so kind. But unfortunately I'm off the waitlist and got declined. ? My GPA is 3.54, so don't lose hope @nvishaa you still have a shot. I'm just wondering now what the cut off is for the GPA, I'm going there on Monday to gain some info on it, maybe take my chances to contest the decline if possible. If I don't really have a chance, I will just apply for January 2020 entry. And another thing, is your friend still waitlisted with the 3.44 GPA? Please let me know if you have any news about that. Rooting for you to get in!
Hey @Seraina2020 are you also waitlisted for Fall 2019? or are you just applying for January entry? I'm going to apply for a change of program for winter entry too. Need to boost my gpa and take another exam for the biol 235 I took from Athabasca. Hopefully that would be enough to get in next sem. Don't be nervous, you have a good GPA so you have a high chance of getting in. ? do you want to create a thread for January 2020 with me?

Hi, I’m going to apply for January entry. I‘m still doing math 215 and bio 235. My last exam is in August, just in time:)

Hey @Seraina2020 , I dont know the cut off gpa for Degree holder but from previous years thread, alot had 3.6+ gpa. I believe it just depends on how many are applying and with what gpa. I do know that degree holders have much more seats open than transfers (25-30 seats) which should give you a better chance of getting in!
Best of luck!

No he isn’t on the list anymore. Are you a transfer student or degree holder?
I’m applying for transfer @Michaela1999 I actually just got the decline letter and the gpa they put on there is lower than I expected. Do you maybe think that my gpa was miscalculated? And do you know how they calculate the gpa? I will go on my Monday to ask her about it because I’m really shock of how low the gpa that they had on my letter.

My friend had a 3.41*** just for correction. May I ask what your GPA is if it’s not too personal bc I’m not sure if I’ll get declined or not as well. Or even a range like is it lower than 3.40? They calculate 1english course, 1 statistics course, 2 human anatomy & physiology course and 1 art class. The rest of the 5 courses are just previous courses taken. Also, I see that you’re courses are from Athabasca college so the equivalence of grades differs as well too. The room for error is very small. But doesn’t kill to follow up tbh just so they can explain everything.
From what I calculated on my UofC portal, the 5 required courses and 5 previously taken courses my gpa would sit at 3.54. Yes I have the athabasca course but on my transcript from that uni is showing up the same on my uofc portal so, I really need to ask her about it now. I think you have a higher gpa than me. I thought you already got in?

maybe you are mistaking me for michelle on the forum ? I have not gotten in yet. my gpa sits slighty under 3.5 which is why I am asking. I really then wouldn't be able to know what the issues is, if the gpa seems alright then i am guessing maybe one of the courses was invalid?!? Def call in and ask or better yet show up in person bc they take sooooo long to reply
Thank you @learndreams, my gpa is sitting at a 3.67 and i haven't heard anything yet. I read on the previous threads for nursing on here and one of the girl's gpa was miscalculated so i feel like i should call them and ask what they calculated mine as before they make a decision on my application. I'm glad to hear someone got in with a 3.74 that means they are slowly going down. I'm 0.07 away from that so i honestly have no idea if il get accepted, but praying hard!
