University of Calgary Fall 2019 (Transfer/Degree Holder Route)

Published

Hello, I applied for the UofC transfer route for Fall 2019, right now I have a 3.82 gpa but I am predicting I'll end up around a 3.7. I want to meet other applicants so if you applied for Fall 2019, say hi!

@Michaela1999 LOL yup I’m clearly following the thread wrong. I will show up on Monday for sure. I’ve called them and even made an appointment before to make sure that the courses I picked were the right requirements so I think my courses wouldn’t be the problem because I only took one course outside of uofc. The gpa on the letter that they calculated for me is 3.49 and they said that it is below the minimum admission average. I wonder what was the cutoff then if that’s the case.

Yeah it’s strange that you have not gotten an offer yet. I’ve read that thread too and she contested the decline decision and she got in. Try to come in and see them just to ask about your application. @nvishaa I hope we all get in!

What’s the point of updating the portal saying you are waitlisted till August 15? So misleading honestly. They shouldn’t have put anyone on the list until they finished everyone’s application. I’m going to see them on Monday as well.

Hi guys! I’ve also applied to the transfer route for September. They haven’t finished evaluating everyone’s transcripts yet so they have not dropped the GPA below 3.8. They apparently evaluate them in the order in which the final transcript was received. So if you haven’t heard anything that is why! I’m also waiting for my transcript to be evaluated and my gpa to be calculated. Best of luck everyone!

Hey @Michaela1999 I just talked to the admissions lady and she said that the gpa cutoff right now is 3.64. She also said that she has never seen the minimum this high before. :( they did make a mistake on calculating my gpa but she said it may or may not put back on the waitlist. Just praying that it would.

Hey I went there today and she’s told me 3.42?!?! I don’t think she knew what she was talking about. From my understanding, right now the minimum gpa is so high that they are rejecting people. But if it drops then the people that were rejected will get offered a seat?

I'm so confused, so anyone with a 3.64 and above has a chance? also is the transfer route 25 seats or 30? Everytime i call them i get the same lady and all she says is "umm umm" so i'm never satisfied that she's giving me the right information. I'm worried they might calculate my gpa wrong as well i really need to speak to them before they make a decision on my application.

25-30 seats. It varies each year. It’s best to go in person because when I call, they usually reply back within 3 days (lol too long for me because I’m impatient). Try to go to *****, I went to **** last time and she didn’t give me the correct information. So I’ll try ***** today. I’ll let you know how it goes.

@Michaela1999 really? Who did you speak with? If it’s 3.42 then my gpa is still in. I have 3.54. This is so confusing. I don’t know which one to believe now. I spoke with ****** yesterday. I’ll come back in a week or two to check in about. I hope we’re all getting a fair chance. Did she mention about when you’ll know if you’re in or not?

Hey, guys so I went there today, SHE said anyone under 3.64 is REJECTED. 3.42 was the GPA cutoff before but the more applications they processed they realized that they had to cut more people off which is why It took some time for people to receive their rejection letter. The waitlist is already full that it won't go down past 3.64 because there are numerous people around that GPA and its really like a slim, almost non-existent chance they'll have to pull someone who's been rejected to offer them a seat because their waitlist is still too long. She's never seen the minimum GPA this high before so she was pretty shocked too.

She also mentioned that the gpa for winter has been increasing as well. It went from 3.2 to 3.4 so this winter is also a mystery as they don't know if it will increase or decrease. Try your hardest to just get your gpa as high as you can. Best of luck to everyone still in the fall 2019 race.

I don't even know whats gonna happen to my application i have a 3.67 and i haven't heard anything the girl on the phone told me i will most likely be put in the waitlist. If the waitlist is full already, what will happen to my application. UGH so worried. Thank you for the info @Michaela1999
