University of Calgary Fall 2019 (Transfer/Degree Holder Route)

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hello, I applied for the UofC transfer route for Fall 2019, right now I have a 3.82 gpa but I am predicting I'll end up around a 3.7. I want to meet other applicants so if you applied for Fall 2019, say hi!

Hellooo friends! Any update if anyone else got in? I'm still on the waitlist and I don't know if I will get in. It's stressing me out ?

Also do you guys know if there's any chance that the GPA will go lower near the end of the summer?

Hi! I haven't heard anything, i'm not even on the waitlist yet. I'm worried they missed my application or something. Do you guys recommend going in to see the advisor or will the people on the phone tell me the same thing?

Is anyone els in here who hasn't heard anything yet, not even the waitlist? or am i the only one? I did submit my final mark for my last class like 4 days before the transcript deadline so maybe thats why?

Nvishaa,

I submitted my final transcripts on May 31, I am still waiting too! I call once a week to see where they are in their evaluations. I was told you should hear 4 weeks from when they received your transcript. So hopefully soon?! I’m growing anxious as well but keep being told they just haven’t got there yet. Keep me posted!

It's weird they haven't accepted more people because only 120/140 people are registered for classes.

@Nursingstudent2000 so there are 140 seats for transfer students? Where would i be able to find that info? Did you call them or was it on a website?

@Alli1987 Hi! yeah! im really worried i just want to know already! its weird not being told anything at all! I stopped calling because i always get the same girl and she barely knows what she is talking about, so i might go in and see an adviser tomorrow.

They are most likely still looking through both degree holder and transfers transcripts considering so many have applied this year.

@nvishaa the 140 is the amount of students going into 2nd year, not transfer students. ( If youve been accepted already, you can enroll in classes thats why @Nursingstudent2000 Has the exact number). Theres only 25-30 seats available for transfers, and about 90 for degree holders (don’t quote me on that, because I dont know the exact amount), and the rest would be direct entry students from last year registering for 2nd year nursing courses.

Hope that helps!

oh btw degree holders only get accepted for the January entry, I made a mistake when I made the thread ?

Oh my bad! Than its most likely because the group of transfer students who applied is so big they are still scheming through all transcripts before they make a decision. Im guessing most that applied have around the same GPA which might make it harder for the faculty to decide who to accept and who to reject.

but in my personal opinion, if you havent been rejected yet, then you still have a really good chance!! So dont give up just yet!

Best of luck guys!!

@Nursingstudent2000 I wanted to ask you a question! Do you know how the process would be if I were to apply for student loans? Considering we are transfers, would we need to let them know about the change of program? I tried reading the student manual the faculty provided but it was so confusing. I might just need to call up Alberta loans for help but I was wondering if you knew off the top of your head before I call them!

thanks!
