For all of us applying to UBC's BSN 2016 program, let's communicate, share and give encouragement to one another throughout the process.
I just submitted my general UBC application to get the ball rolling early, and it already gave me access to get started on my supplemental application. This is my second time applying, so I hope to do a better job on my app this year and at least get an interview. But I have also accepted that this may not be my fate and I have other options.
Incidentally, to others who also applied previously: I phoned to make sure all my transcripts were still on file, and they are not! UBC admissions discards everything from last year. So I have six transcripts to send in again (including high school). Expensive and time consuming, and also seems a little crazy in the age of computers that they didn't keep electronic copies. But, we do what we have to do... Good luck everyone!
I just got home from work a little while ago, and before I did anything refreshed my email twice (maybe three times, but whose counting). I am almost grateful to have work to distract me (partially distract) during this time, or Id probably spend all morning till 3PM doing nothing but hitting refresh over and over and drinking coffee. I have a feeling that the wave of emails are coming tomorrow...mind you I thought Monday was that day too. For those who get an interview, be sure to update your computer before hand and block updates afterwards, make sure any annoying programs are shut off so they dont pop up during the interview, and do a few trial runs of your camera and microphone on skype. This is definitely an intense process...I'm wishing you all the best and hope to meet everyone face to face...maybe on the first day of orientation (wishful thinking?). Either outcome for me, I'm glad to be chatting with you guys/gals/persons of non-specific gender...come on Ruxandra....bring on the emails!
From reading previous threads, it seems as though the rejections are given after all the invitations are given...is that right? Or do they just come in simultaneously?
In past years, rejections have come last. They send approximately 3 rounds of offers beforehand. First, their top picks are sent out. Then, they have a certain deadline to accept the interview. If they do not accept the interview by the deadline, the next round of offers is sent out, etc. until all offers are out. Then unsuccsessful applicants are notified. At least this is how it seems to have worked - I don't represent the school and can only represent my own thoughts.
Thank you futurenursling, for sharing your thoughts. I really wish they can give us a heads up on the offer process. I hope the initial interviews haven't got sent out yet!
