The University of Alabama - Application for FNP program - Fall 2025

Published

I just submitted my application for the family nurse practitioner program that starts in the fall of 2025. I was a nervous wreck! Hoping I did well enough to have a decent chance of acceptance. I am still in the middle of taking my BSN but will be done in July. I've been working as an RN for about six years before I decided to go back to get my BSN. I'm just hoping to get in so I can just keep going until the very end. I'm afraid if I take another "break" that "break" will turn into years and years of refusing to go back.

Sorry for the long post, but for anyone who may already be in the program, how long did it take most of y'all to hear back after submitting your interview? I'm going to be sitting on pins and needles!

I'm sorry Ness! Like Amanda said, maybe people will go with a different program and open up some spots to get you in! Praying for you because I know exactly what it feels like! I got rejected by UNA.. just gotta keep putting yourself out there! You'll get in somewhere I know it!

@rnmomstudent you can reach out to (PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM PER THE TERMS OF SERVICE) and she can possible give you an update, she was the one who emailed me. LOL Amanda I didn't know they had a waitlist either! 😂 at this point I'm leaving it in God's hands I've made peace with the situation. I hope we all get in together, you all seem great and super supportive! I'm rooting for all of you to get in!! 🥳🥳

I applied to U of West Florida for their Summer term. The advisor I have worked with has been amazing, and their rankings on US News & World Report are higher than UA on almost everything. Lower acceptance rate though. I get text updates and/or a phone call to keep me in the loop. It will be a difficult decision if I am accepted to both 😬

I thought the deadline was 4/1 for fall. I didn't realize they had a waitlist, Ness...maybe some will accept another school and open up spaces once decisions have been made.

It was...I just decided to apply on March 21st.

Thanks...I just emailed her. I am waiting for a response. I didn't think I would be so nervous bc I literally decided to apply at the last minute and this was the only school I applied to. I am not in a rush but I still hope I get in. I am sorry you didn't get the result you wanted but waitlist is not bad bc I am sure others might decide to go elsewhere or wait to start the program for various reasons.

Please note that posts have been edited.

Please do not post names of those in your program per the Terms of Service.

Thank you.

I haven't heard anything yet! I tried calling yesterday just to get a general timeline but never got through to anyone. I did get an acceptance letter to the University of South Alabama this morning though! Went ahead and secured my spot, but if by chance I get an offer from UA, I'll probably withdraw to go with UA instead

Congrats whoop whoop. Were you accepted to USA for Fall 2025. If you don't mind telling me what was your timeline of USA from submitting application to acceptance.  I just applied there as well. Good luck on UA. The waiting game is no joke LOL.

I wonder if they are going in alphabetical order with last names, because I still haven't received any emails or updates on my application.
