The University of Alabama - Application for FNP program - Fall 2025

Published

I just submitted my application for the family nurse practitioner program that starts in the fall of 2025. I was a nervous wreck! Hoping I did well enough to have a decent chance of acceptance. I am still in the middle of taking my BSN but will be done in July. I've been working as an RN for about six years before I decided to go back to get my BSN. I'm just hoping to get in so I can just keep going until the very end. I'm afraid if I take another "break" that "break" will turn into years and years of refusing to go back.

Sorry for the long post, but for anyone who may already be in the program, how long did it take most of y'all to hear back after submitting your interview? I'm going to be sitting on pins and needles!

My interview was March 19.

Specializes in Cardiac/Vascular, Surgery.

@Rob Herring Congratulations on your acceptance! Can you share anything related to the interview questions and writing portion?

Thank you!

I just got my acceptance email!

@Brittany L Congrats! When did you apply? Can you share how the interview was? Thank you!

Thank you. I applied back in Feb and did my interview 4/17. I honestly cant remember what the questions were. I feel like I blacked out through the whole thing. The questions weren't horrible. You have 30 seconds to gather your thoughts before you have to answer them.

I'd probably black out as well. Was it video and audio or just audio recording?

It was video. Questions were pre recorded also. There are practice questions you do before the actual interview to get you comfortable with the format.

Thanks for the feedback!

So I have completed my background check/drug screen and the results have been submitted. Does anyone know what comes next?

Did you guys hear back?! Was is actually two weeks to wait?!

I applied to the online NE program so a little different but Fall 25 applications were due 4/1.
