Union University Spring 2014

Published

Hey All!

I have applied for Union's Spring 2014 ABSN program at Hendersonville. I submitted all of my application material on April 16 and NursingCAS finalized/"verified" & forwarded my application to Union on May 1. I am still anxiously waiting to hear something back! Are there any other applicants out there for Spring 2014? Have you heard anything back yet? Best of luck to any of you!

@drpierce that is a good GPA! My overall GPA was a 3.5 but I busted my butt my last 3-4 semesters to get it up to about 3.7 my last few semesters.. I'm sure you'll get in too!! Good luck! I actually got my A&P stuff out last night to start looking over it a little at a time (since I took A&P 1 in 2011 and a&p2 in 2012.. I'm a little rusty & I don't wanna have to relearn old stuff while having to learn new stuff!

@jrpalmer8 nice to "meet" you! And I have emailed admissions and asked on multiple occasions about how many students they accept each semester & haven't gotten an answer. I think as long as your GPA is decent & you turn everuthing in by the deadline, I'd say you have a pretty good shot! Where snouts will you be commuting from?

@Jrpalmer8 @drpierce

I got my acceptance email a few minutes ago!! Has anyone else received an email today??

@apartridge232- CONGRATULATIONS:)!!! That is so exciting, I'm so happy for you! I still haven't heard anything...*Fingers Crossed*

@drpierce keeping fingers crossed!! I am still in shock that they've already emailed me. I was so stressed they really were gonnaakr us wait till November. Good luck & hopefully you will hear something very soon!!! Let me know when you hear!

I'm kinda late to all nurses but hey everyone. I got my email Aug 26! I thought it was a mistake. My GPA was 3.4 I believe I'm not really sure how they calculated it. They are still waiting on my AP1 grade. I took it again because I was close to the 5 year window. I didn't stress about the application after I turned it in. I figured it was out of my hands then. My personal statement was ok and I know my references where outstanding. Good luck to you all!!

Congrats jessy2fast!!

Thanks DRPierce. Try not to stress too much you'll have plenty to stress about once you receive your email. I was enjoying my summer until I got my email now I'm in super stress mode. Good luck again but I'm sure you'll be fine.

@jessy2fast congrats! I wonder how they go about accepting people as well. I know they look at your last 60 hours and that is th GPA they go off of, which really helped me because my overall was 3.5, but my last 60 hours was about 3.7. Where will you be commuting from? I'm hoping to find someone close to me to car pull with since I'll have an hour commute everyday! Also, the email said that classes start at the end of January, which I figured they started at the beginning.. So we have a little longer break than I thought. Good luck & keep in touch!

@apartridge I'll be commuting from Oak Grove KY it's right outside of the Fort Campbell Army post. It's also about am hour drive.

Oh ok! Well I'll be coming from the opposite direction, Alexandria, TN which is about 45 mins east of Nashville

Thanks ladies! Quick question...I read on previous threads that they required a $600 deposit within a week of your acceptance email in order to secure your spot. Did you guys receive anything about this? I'm trying to figure out if I do get accepted, if I will need to have that money ready. Also, if you don't mind me asking, are either of you taking out loans? I had heard about the WellsFargo MedCap loan on previous posts that I'm looking into, but I'm trying to figure if there are any other companies that are fairly easy to get loans through as I won't have a co-signer.

My email said my deposit was due before the 23rd of Sept. i don't know if its the same for everyone. I'm using my 9-11 bill from the Army to pay for tuition but may need to take a small loan if it doesn't cover everything.
