That blows my mind that that many people applied to Union. Some of the top schools dont even get that many applicants. But it was 3 full interview periods.

I think a lot of statistics you see are likely to be outdated. I know our number of applicants have went up consistently every year. Anesthesia has gained a lot of popularity over recent years and has created a more competitive environment for every cycle.

Hey cowboymedic I applied last year too and I interviewed last year obviously didn't make it in I got an interview for this year it looks like a lot of people who interviewed last year got interviews this year too...anyway I'm from Texas and my interview is Thursday Nov 21 @1140

I was excited that I got another interview. I will also interview on Thursday but a little bit early at 0910. I'll be flying into Memphis the day before and then flying out again that afternoon. I drove last year and that was a very long drive from Tulsa to Jackson.

Some changes that I noticed from last year to this year,

CCRN is now required, it was just suggested last year (had mine last year)

40 hrs minimum of shadowing.

Hi!
just joining the group, I submitted my application last week for the second deadline.
Stats:

•Science GPA 4.0
•Last 60 hrs 3.7
•About to hit my 3 years of ICU experience
BLS/ACLS/PALS/CCRN/ENLS

•48 hrs of shadowing

•Charge and Preceptor experience

Hoping to score an interview!! Went to the preview day and fell in love with the faculty it feels that they TRULY care about their students and want them to succeed. For me it was a plus that they incorporate faith into the program!

Good luck to all the peeps that got an interview this first deadline. I will be praying for you all to do great!

I know the interview is laid back. What do they ask in the interview? Do you remember any specific questions?

The interview is geared toward getting to your personality and if you would be a good fit for Union. They will ask a few generalized questions about your Unit, but it is not meant to be an intimidating interview.

Hey guys, I was offered and accepted a spot at a school here in MI so I will not be coming to TN in a couple of weeks. However, I am rooting for you all as I know the application process can be grueling. Good Luck!!!! Be your authentic self and win them over! ??
