  1. I know of one specifically that has received a call, per this individual announcing it on social media. Usually calls go out the following Monday/Tuesday the week after interviews that’s when I received mine. Assuming none of you have received calls I would not be alarmed as per the situation I mentioned earlier.
  2. I wouldn’t freak out. Yesterday afternoon it was announced that classes would be distance classes for the next month or so due to the Coronavirus. Clinical sites likewise have stopped SRNA’s from clinical and they are scrambling to figure out these situations.
  3. I know some people got calls today. The interviews are done.
  4. 2/3 full roughly perhaps a little more. You could most likely call the program coordinator and get an exact number. I am sure after paying a deposit and being accepted most are going to ride it out.
  5. They plan on still accepting a full cohort. The majority of the seats have been filled and those accepted have been made aware of current issues. I don’t see them doing anything different with this deadline/interviews.
  6. If I have been “negative, or speculative” it’s because I am trying to make People aware of a program that could very well not have a class next year. You forget I have, a long with the other students, spoken to the dean of nursing, the president of the school, and the staff. I love Union but we are in major trouble. Your naive if you believe 4 new professors will fall from the sky in the next 6 months for substantially less money than they are already making. The anesthesia community is very small and our reputation is more tarnished every day. There are many specific reasons but I won’t “speculate” about them on here, your best interest would be to contact the actual school and see how much fluff you receive on the future of the program. I hope that I am very wrong because I sacrificed a lot as well as all of you to attend Union. Good luck though man in the past both schools have had outstanding programs.
  7. Scott have you even read the last couple pages of discussion on this forum.
  8. I am not a subject matter expert on school closings, you can research for yourself Council of accreditation for nurse anesthesia educational programs standards, refer to section P10. From my interpretation it covers current students who are enrolled in the program and experience closure unexpectantly to a accredited school. It does not cover incoming students, plus unions accreditation runs out in 2022 without a faculty they can’t go through the process of extending the accreditation process. Perhaps the current faculty have a plan for assisting placing students in other programs if the worst case scenario happens, I don’t know this is all speculation. The school still plans to hire a staff so none of this occurs. From the meeting we had the other night though as far as I know the teach out applies to 1st and 2nd year students only, as the 3rd year will be graduating in July and won’t be effected regardless.
  9. No it would not. Our accreditation only runs through 2022. The teach out would be through the Council on accreditation for current students.
  10. We are all hoping for the best. In the event teachers are not found, the current students will have to undergo a teach out option through a partner program. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, but nonetheless everyone should monitor the situation as it unfolds.
  11. Yes we had a hour and a half hour meeting regarding the issue two nights ago. We all believe this is due to some contractual changes that will impact their earning potential. They are actively recruiting a new staff but everyone who has been accepted and those still to interview needs to be aware of this fact. There is no guarantee we will have a new faculty by the time school starts.
  12. Send me a private message. I would be happy to look over your CV or help in anyway that I can. The numbers are against everyone. When you have over 400 applicants for just 27 seats the odds are never great. However; until you receive an email stating otherwise don't give up on it.
  13. The cost of living is cheap. Jackson is one of the largest cities in the area, but its not very big. Jackson is surrounded by many small rural communities with Memphis being about an hour and fifteen minutes away.
  14. Last year the stats my class received were 436 applicants. 125 interviews. 27 accepted. The class size is 30 but 3 seats are allocated for progression students who were the top of their class in undergrad who decided to do anesthesia and are returning after a year of experience in the ICU.
