UNF Summer 2014 BSN hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone!

With the deadline only a little over a month away, I figured we all need a place to stress, hope and worry! I just took my first stab at the TEAS and hit the average score of the past few years (335). I have a 3.9 GPA. One pre-req left. Applying for ABSN. I'm scheduled for a second TEAS attempt next month. How is everyone else doing? Drooling over stats as much as I am?? Any interview preparation plans?

got a chance to finally look up my application on mywing and it said "Admit"! don't give up guys ... this was my 3 time applying to nursing schools !!

Phelbogonenurse...I had this same interview experience. There was one interviewee that went on and on with random stories and took up 80% of the time. I thought it very unfortunate that some very bright, passionate folks filled with potential hardly got to speak. I had other interview experiences with other programs that were very professional and positive. I was disappointed with this one. I loved so many things about the UNF experience. The interview process was not one of them. I am glad to hear that everyone did not have the same negative experience. I hate that those that did not have a good interview experience could have potentially been denied application into the program due to this. There is no perfect system. I know the school gave it their best effort. Perhaps there will be a less subjective process (not having 8 different sets of interviewers) in the future.

That's so unfortunate to hear that you had the same experience. Wonder if we were in the same group, lol. I'm sure it's common though. I didn't get to share experiences of my own (my own fault for not sneaking them in when appropriate) but people stuck them in to answer questions that just had absolutely nothing to do with the topic and I wasn't going to force it to fit. I'm also very happy to see these admits and that others had a positive experience. I am curious to see how the admissions process for nursing school (and other healthcare programs) will evolve. Best of luck to you Sunshinefl4 but if it doesn't work out, I think we can both agree there are other opportunities out there and perhaps this just didn't fit our personalities.
