Hi everyone!
With the deadline only a little over a month away, I figured we all need a place to stress, hope and worry! I just took my first stab at the TEAS and hit the average score of the past few years (335). I have a 3.9 GPA. One pre-req left. Applying for ABSN. I'm scheduled for a second TEAS attempt next month. How is everyone else doing? Drooling over stats as much as I am?? Any interview preparation plans?
I was accepted into JU and UF's accelerated nursing programs. I was offered admittance into UNF's traditional program (which I'm not interested in), but I'm feeling pretty hopeful that I may still get offered a place in their accelerated program. I'm very torn as to where to go, especially if I get offered a slot in the accelerated program at UNF. I've heard nothing but good things about JU's program (except regarding the cost). Granted I am biased toward going to JU because it's my alma mater. UF is a great program as well, but my husband is stationed at NAS Jax--meaning I would have to get an apartment in Gainesville, and just visit my husband on the weekends when he's not deployed (obviously not the best options).
I'm also trying to factor my long term goals into the equation. I would really like to obtain a graduate degree in nursing; anesthesia is the direction I'm leaning. I'm not sure which school would better prepare me for that track, and would look better on a resume. I'm definitely interested in UNF CRNA program. So, do y'all think that attending UNF BSN would help me to get into their graduate program later? Or would going to a school like JU that emphasis ICU care, which is the type of experience required to be admitted into a CRNA program, would be better? Any thoughts or suggestions on the matter would be appreciated!
Does anyone else still have "Departmental Refer" as their status?? Anyone who got accepted, who's status still has not changed? Or is it just the denials who found out through the mail?? Uhhgg
My status still reads "Departmental Refer"; however, I received the letter in the mail on Monday informing me I was accepted into the traditional track. So, I wouldn't worry to much :).
Anyone else apply to UCF's accelerated program? I am on the waitlist for UNF, so I'm anxious to hear back from UCF, which is where I got my bachelor's degree. Hopefully it's soon!
I am! I wish they would hurry it up! I also got my bachelors from there... so we know how slow they can be haha
I too have not heard anything back yet (I live in the panhandle) and it still says departmental referral. As for Lemana... If I get accepted into the acclerated track im def interested in looking for a roommate!
Good luck amm. Definitely be in touch. I have another young professional interested in the room already (thank goodness), but I'd really prefer yo room with someone from the cohort.
