Hi everyone!
With the deadline only a little over a month away, I figured we all need a place to stress, hope and worry! I just took my first stab at the TEAS and hit the average score of the past few years (335). I have a 3.9 GPA. One pre-req left. Applying for ABSN. I'm scheduled for a second TEAS attempt next month. How is everyone else doing? Drooling over stats as much as I am?? Any interview preparation plans?
Haven't heard anything back yet but I'm going to say my piece on how I felt about the interview. It was somewhat disappointing and turned me off of UNF slightly. I have heard amazing things, don't get me wrong, but I have yet to see statistics other than pass rates about them being 2nd ranked in FL (please correct me if you have some sources or if it is based on pass rate). One of the interviewers was so abrasive to speak with. I know they have a hard job making these decisions and mean well but who died and made them fit to analyze potential students? I'm just disappointed how much they carried on about how great they were to conduct these interviews when we were all slammed together for limited time and they only see a snippet of who we are, God forbid you get nervous. I also realize there is usually one person in the group who dominates the conversations and I think this is so unfair in a group interview. If you want to see ME then make the time for us to talk. I have manners and am not going to interrupt someone hogging up the time just so I can talk and if that's what it takes to be accepted here then I need to find another school. Anyway, so sorry to those of you who were denied. I hope you will keep pursuing your goal and don't take this as a blow to the ego, you got an interview so that means there will be other opportunities. Congratulations to those who were accepted, you're going to make great nurses and I wish you well in the program.
Hi HelloNursh,
I'd rather not say which group since it will be an identifier. I will say, that is only my opinion and I am desperate to get into nursing, lol. It was all well-organized, all the students and Beth were so kind and helpful, and overall I would be blessed to go to UNF but I was just not fond of how the interview itself was conducted. At times, it appeared like the people interviewing weren't even paying attention and I saw how nervous everyone was and it just makes me sad because we all want so badly to be in the field and thought they could have done a better job putting us at ease. That makes me feel a little better about what you heard, I had not heard that and felt the opposite due to what a friend told me about her interview. She said a girl dominated the whole thing and I asked if she got in and she said 'Of course!" as if that's what you're expected to be like.

I'm sure you did better than you thought. Don't be nervous. Good luck!
Phelbogonenurse...I had this same interview experience. There was one interviewee that went on and on with random stories and took up 80% of the time. I thought it very unfortunate that some very bright, passionate folks filled with potential hardly got to speak. I had other interview experiences with other programs that were very professional and positive. I was disappointed with this one. I loved so many things about the UNF experience. The interview process was not one of them. I am glad to hear that everyone did not have the same negative experience. I hate that those that did not have a good interview experience could have potentially been denied application into the program due to this. There is no perfect system. I know the school gave it their best effort. Perhaps there will be a less subjective process (not having 8 different sets of interviewers) in the future.

If only!! I'm thinking it'll be another 2 weeks or so... they'll probably be pretty close to that 8 wk mark. But that's just a guess! It would be awesome to hear sooner!
