UNF Fall 2011 RPL Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone!

I am applying for UNF for Fall 2011 admission. Anyone else also applying for the Fall 2011 semester? Good luck to you all in your pursuits!

Kali

So with a 711, will I get an interview?

Specializes in OR.

@HM2Doc - Yes, my next stop will actually be FSCJ. That is where I got my AA from "back in the day" in 2003. I would do the RN there and then the RN-BSN program there. It's free for me to go to FSCJ (so that is a huge plus).

I applied to UNF back in 2003 and was selected for an interview...there was no TEAS testing back then. Boy, how times have changed :) I declined the interview because I was pregnant and put on bed rest. I literally just realized there was this "TEAS" test last Friday and rushed to take it.

I am partial to UNF since my husband spent 4 years there before we left to go to Gainesville for his Ph.D (history)...Now, we are back in Jax. UNF will cut 2 years off of my time in getting my BSN...but, if I don't get in, I will take the alternative. Time to finish what I started :)

There is no way of giving you a 100% yes or no. The average changes with every class since the scores of candidates change with every class. It could be 714 (like my class), 680, 730...who knows? If you were to call up the director for nursing admissions, i doubt he would even know...unless they already have the scores compiled and ranked.

Basically you have to cross your fingers and play the waiting game. 711 is a pretty good score though, so it's likely.:)

I hope you get into UNF. The FSCJ RN-BSN program is dependent on a person being able to get a job after the associate program and then working the required hours, both of which are not always guaranteed. But, if it's free, then that's definitely a plus. :)

Yes, absolutely correct :) That is another issue...that tacks on another year. I'm not worried about being able to get a job in nursing. If you are a nurse, you will get a job. Out of all the nurses I know, job placement has never been a problem. None of the nurses I know went through UNF or FSCJ...they live in Tennesse, Gainesville, etc...so I appreciate all the information you have posted on this whole application process. Congrats, BTW!! :)

Well, today is the deadline. Good luck to everyone who applied! I'm going to be keeping my fingers crossed for the next month! Lol :p

When do you think we will know??? How long does it generally take them to send out interview letters?

It will take about a month. Our deadline for summer entry was January 15th and we got interview letters on February 15th. Good luck!

On the plus side, if you get an interview invite, the wait afterwards will be very short. UNF SON will know that very day if you are getting accepted or not, and you will find out 2-3 business days later.

Good luck to all of you that are anxiously waiting on your letters! I was accepted in the Summer RPL program. This whole process has been so stressfull, so I really feel your pain. My prereq GPA was a 4.0 and my TEAS was a 343, not very high because I took it very early into my science classes and even though math is a strength of mine, it didn't appear that way on that test. As mentioned earlier the program is far more than $2000. I would say $4500 is dead on. The interview is nerve racking. We had 6 people in my group and 3 interviewers. My best advice is to relax (near impossible I know) and be the best version of yourself. Don't be too reheorificed, wear too much makeup, wear heavy perfume, or wild hair. Normal interview stuff applies. Also a good idea not to wear open toe shoes, and if you wear a skirt panty hose might be a good idea. I wore a pants suit and heals with my hair in a low poneytail and minimal jewlery. I felt really yucky about my interview afterwards. I got in and I still sometimes think I should have said this when I said that. The result came back within a fews days, which was great cause my nerves were shot. Also I noticed the day before I got my letter my mywings account had changed, which I took as a good sign!

When I was going through the application process reading these posts was a big help, so I hope I can pay it forward just a bit.

Hello all, I also applied to UNF nursing for the fall generic BSN.

I'm very nervous to find out if I got the interview in a few weeks, yet extremely excited. :)

Scarlett,

That's great! I am waiting too. Best of luck to you. What school are you coming from?
